Rydges Esplanade Cairns - 凱恩斯

Having stayed at two other Rydges hotels in Australia, we found this hotel also to be a good 4*, with big rooms, clean and a good location, next to the water front.

The position of the resort was great as is a little out of party central Cairns and the hotel is in a fantastic location.

The views were amazing, the location of the hotel was excellent and the staff were the most helpful.

As the hotel website instructs - I made arrangements for a shuttle pick-up from the airport to the hotel, but there was no one there, so we took a cab.

Not recommended for business travellers as this Rydges is too far from the CBD for walking and the courtesy bus only commences at 9:15am.

Some even managed to get upgrades when checking in, and while we were initially allocated 3 single beds (hubby, wife &14 year old daughter), the hotel gladly accommodated our request for change of room to double & single bed.

The bathroom was huge with a separate bath tub and shower area.

We booked a 2 bedroom studio apartment for my colleague and I to attend a conference in Cairns.

The "studio apartment" was actually only 2 connected rooms and did not have the kitchen or laundry facilities that we had requested.

Furthermore careful training of staff and good bed.

The hotel also has a good business centre, a nice restaurant with a lovely breakfast buffet, and a large tourist information area where they have all the pamphlets for the various day tours which you can join.

We weren't going to eat in the restaurant but the 'Fire and Ice' buffet was fantastic - the chef cooks in front of you your main and you get your side dishes, pastas, antipasto, salads and desserts from the buffet.

The restaurant was great with a good selection of food and overall it was a throughly enjoyable stay.

The breakfast buffet could have been a lot better, food only just warm each morning, not a great hot food selection.

The view of the mountains in the distance was pleasant, service offered in the restaurant made our stay even better and reception staff were very helpful.

It is impossible for us to tell whether the responsiveness of the staff is the natural outgrowth of hiring people who are eager to be of service or whether this spirit is created by a deliberate management policy and careful training of staff.

Good Location, high value for money and reception staff very helpful and friendly.

It was located at the back of the complex adjacent to the gym and an unused pool and near a busy road.

Swimming pool area well looked after, good value for Money and the housekeeping staff were excellent.

The breakfast buffet could have been a lot better and they have spa pool for free of charge.

Great value for money, the night staff were absolutely amazing and the room was large and clean.

The staff was very attentive, my room were well lit and clean, the buffet breakfast was great.
