I read everything I could find online about this hotel , asked the 'local expert' via this site and looked at photos I could find of Hotel Royal Plaza which is a top star hotel in Eivissa town within the upper range of the price bracket.
For July, the rates were higher but I also looked at the hotel's website price wise and it was the same so I went ahead and booked a single room for myself sometime in early June.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to stay at a beautiful, fancy hotel without paying an arm and a leg.
Great location in Ibiza town, located a very long way from the beach and this hotel offers all you expect from an hotel: comfortable.
The location of the plaza was very close to the sex shops, the ibiza ladies' club and opposite a derelict car park surrounded by corrogated iron.
Great location, very good stay and very friendly girl in reception.
This hotel was in an excellent location and the staff were all really friendly.
Feels a bit like a early 80s airport hotel.
We stayed in a Premier Whirlpool Tower Room with 2 double beds and a sofa-bed.
The rooms have the standard amenities you'd expect in a nice hotel, but to me, what really set this place apart was things like the poolside bar, having an iron and ironing board in the room, the electronic in-room safe, the easy-to-use voice mail, the ceiling fan, and the Bath & Body Works stuff.
The Bathroom was HUGE, and was equipped with a Whirlpool Roman Tub and the soaps and shampoo and lotions (and rubber duckies) are all from Bath & Body Works.
The room was a bit dated looking, a bit 80's, but i dont think we have ever slept in a bed so comfy!
The rooms were nice (although it would have been nice to have a large Queen or King sized bed instead of two singles pushed together!
Breakfast buffet was very good with lots of choices; gratuity always added in the hotel restaurant.
I protested that I might not like the food or I might wake up late and therefore miss it at times so I asked to opt out of the breakfast charge but they said it was not possible.
Decent breakfast buffet and traditional Spanish.
They require guests to pay for breakfast in the peak months.
I had to pay for breakfast even if I didn't want to have it!
Once I arrived at the hotel, I was confirming with the reception staff that breakfast was included and I was told that it was since it is part of the room rate.
The staff was efficient but then again, the 'service with a smile' (save for that German lady) was missing, same as the hotel staff in Barcelona.
We had a great balcony that overlooked the port and the hotel staff was wonderful, especially Carmen at reception!
Staff were excellent and helpful, so was very happy.
What I might call a bonus is the rooftop pool /spa.
The 'gym' they are talking about consists of 2 treadmills in the spa room.
Roof pool terrace that gets the sun all day, which has amazing views of the Dalt Vila (old town castle) and the harbour.
A clean room, roof top terrace is very nice.
I found that it's really not that special, is poorly situatied , has no aesthetic qualities about it and is not a 5-star business hotel by US standards although they provided good,/efficient service, a clean room and meals.
The rooms are very clean, very comfortable, but rather dated.
