  Not good when settling down in an unfamiliar bed etc.

  Bedrooms may not have emergency lighting. During a short power cut, there was no evidence of emergency lighting in the rooms. Could be a problem at night if you have to find your way out of a unfamiliar room. Breakfast is slow, late, staff not aware of international visitor requirements,. Sink and bath pop-up plugs in our room let out as much water as from the tap. Had to keep running water to wash, shave, bath etc. First bottle of water is free, then you have to pay.

  I've visited the royal mirage hotel last year and honestly it wan't a good experience the service was very poor also its staff, this year my wife want to go to Marrakech again and like any man on this earth I can't say NO, Marrakech in this periode was full, all hotels was full booked, and again I didn't have an other choice, the ROYAL mirage deluxe was my last one! I was very serprised, I guess they change all staff!

  The restaurants never had any customers, 3 were open only ever saw a maximum of 2 tables being used, except for poolside braekfast, which was reasonable. Basically no sign of any caring management, although some very nice staff (thanks Amal).

  Very nice looking hotel, but very poor service, THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL. A grand reception area, morrocan in style, nice standard rooms, poor bathrooms ( the shower leaks ). The hotel seems quite even when full up, We were the only customers in the bar at any time over a 5 day stay, very poor service. Reception staff very nice, but facilities poor, no cashing service, no pens, no local guide info, no in house car service. Very poor business services, rip-off internet.

  The ladies at the reception were totally disinterested in their customers and their rooms were not ready for us until the late afternoon. Their business center (= 1 PC with internet connection) is obviously a joke, but overpriced. At the pool there were no towels available and no chairs. 5 stars - and we even booked the best category of room.

  We found all the staff without exception to be curtious, polite and helpful. The resturants were all delightful, offering a mouthwatering array of dishes, (priced similar to those found in Europe), and the decor was a feast for the eyes. Perhaps it would be a good idea to request a room that is situated away from the club at the time of booking. That said, the mini bar in the room was fairly reasonable in comparison to some london hotels I've stayed in!

  The pool was beautiful and never crowded. Yes the shower leaked, but the water was minimal and remained near the cubical. Our allocated room was on the second floor of the hotel area above the nightclub. There was NO audible sound from the nightclub in our third floor room.

  Can't use the shower as it floaded, room service.

  I don't understand arabic, but I thought staff were nice but useless.

  The bathrooms were unhygenic and ours flooded. Room service for plain boiled pasta and cheese for a toddler took over an hour to arrive.

  The resturant staff were rude and unhelpful. The would be qualified babysitter was the housekeeping girl. When we queried the bill upon departure seven security staff were arround us and they refused to call us a cab untill we paid and would not let us talk to managment.

  My sister had requested 2 connecting rooms, but when we arrived; the hotel doesn't have connecting rooms. After making trouble my sister got a suite to accomodate them all 5 but only after my parents had to give back their junior suite for a standard room. The breakfast is good when there are enough guests in the hotel. We were very happy when a big congres tour came in the hotel, the place got alive and we got better food! The hotel and rooms are beautiful and big and have all expected amenities.

  The reception staff is not interested and not helpfull. Same at the pool; we were the only guests and no one came for drinks etc. The pool by the way is also gorgeous but after 4 pm you won't get sun. ANd it is a very noisy place as a road with busy traffic is right behind the garden.

  Firstly, i'll start with the positives of this hotel, which are; lovely big swimming pool, clean and spacious rooms and some charming staff.

  My travel companion and I found the food to be of a very poor standard, including the buffet breakfast, which should surely be something that is very easy to get right? We also experienced much the same sub-standard food and service with the lunch time menu, which we twice sampled around the pool. My other main gripe was the total lack of Spa and fitness centre facilities in the hotel, contrary to what was advertised and promised on the internet. I also found the lack of english speaking staff to be frustrating. If I was staying in a local guesthouse or hotel in Marrakech, I would have no expectations that staff should speak any english, but when you're staying in a so called international hotel, with flags from english speaking countries flying outside the main entrance, you can't help but expect a handful of the staff to be able to converse with guests in that language. All in all, I would view this hotel as a 3 star hotel with some decent facilities, but until they improve the service and the food, I feel they are cheating residents by advertising as an international 5 star.

• Fort potentiel

  Nous avons été transférés ici de l’autre hôtel Royal Mirage de Marrakech qui était à l’origine un Sheraton. Le Royal Mirage Deluxe est plus cher et d’un style très français. Il n’était ouvert que depuis quelques mois lorsque nous y avons séjourné et il fallait qu’ils mettent encore les bouchées doubles. Cela se traduisait par un service inégal et des restaurants qui ne s’étaient pas encore réellement mis en route. Par contre, la piscine était sensationnelle, la meilleure que nous ayons vue. Les chambres étaient belles bien qu’il y ait eu quelques problèmes secondaires d’entretien tels qu’une poignée de porte de salle de bain qui tombe ou une fuite du bac à douche. Nous avons observé qu’il n’y avait pas de chambres avec des lits jumeaux.
