Roxburghe Hotel Edinburgh - 爱丁堡

Excellent location, well located for an Edinburgh stay and staff were very courteous especially as the system would not allow check in.

It s close to the shops, bars and restaurants but it is still in a quiet location so no disturbed sleep.

Great location for city exploration and lots of good restaurants nearby in George Street.

The hotel was in fantastic location close to everything you could possibly need to visit in the area, it is also very close to the bus stop to the airport so we didnt need to cart our luggage far at all, the buses are every 10 minutes and £3.

I booked through Activehotels and paid £79 a night for a lovely double room overlooking George Street which was spacious, ye olde-worldy decorated, clean, with a huge firm bed, lovely huge bath, and was quiet as a mouse.

I had to move bedrooms twice - the first room in the old part of the hotel was dirty (chocolate muffin all over the floor and bed) and the noise of the radiator filling with water sounded like water being poured into a steel bucket!

The room was spotless with a king bed and a large modern bathroom.

Good: the bed is comfy; the bathroom looks really nice, large bath; there is a nice oldschool feel to the hotel, it's prime location in New Town; the staff are really friendly & helpful; they called me a cab, helped with luggage etc.

It was lovely, if a little dated, but it was fresher than the other room with a nice bathroom and with much more room, which we needed for a 3 night stay - and a bigger bed.

The bar is very nice and intimate and while the breakfast is delicious, you could probably find cheaper breakfasts in Edinburgh.

The breakfast was brilliant (you won't need to eat lunch as there is so much food) and it was in a great location being so close to the castle and the wonderful shops of Edinburgh.

Didn't eat in the hotel that night but had drinks in their cosy bar and a wonderful breakfast the next morning.

Breakfast was average and we was told to dine in the lounge because the restaurant was full(There were several free tables but who were they for?

Did have breakfast here but for dinner chose to experience some of the local restaurants.

The concierge and reception staff were extremely helpful (ask for Thomas!

In addition the staff were excellent, the concierge was fantastic and room service was very efficient as was our check-out.

The staff at reception and the concierge were both friendly and informative.

Unfortunately don't expect service with a smile from some of the (un)welcoming reception staff.

There is a small gym and a pool with steam room and sauna, all of which were limited in size but appropriate for the number of guests that I encountered using them each night.

The pool was quite nice and I tried the steam room too but not the sauna or the gym.

I didnt make use of the sauna, pool Gym etc so cant pass comment on these.

The bathroom was clean and fresh and the shower was great!

The room was clean,the sheets were fresh but the shower curtain badly needed a wash!

My room was very well made up and was spotless.

My husband and I stayed at The Roxburghe for 2 nights (11 -13/2/06) our rooms were in the new annexe, clean, comfortable and welcoming.

Moreover room was clean and breakfast was superb.
