Room Mate Migueletes

The location was near all of the historical sites, hotel was well located for enjoying the old areas of Granada and staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location was certainly the highpoint for us, as the Migueletes is strategically located on a quiet street in a fabulous area of the Albaycin, within quick walking distance of both the old barrios and the city center.

The hotel is in a great location - hard to find - but very close to the Alhambra in a lovely cobbled and quiet street.

We flew to Granada from Barcelona and took the airport bus into the city for 3 euros per person and then a taxi to the hotel.

30 yards from taxi rank for getting back to the airport (25 euro in at night, 17 euro back during day).

They say this is the finest suite of rooms in Granada, and I can believe it; ante-room/sitting room, huge bedroom/sitting room, separate clothes/dressing room, huge bathroom with jacuzzi, separate shower and loo.

Upon arrival around midnight, they upgraded us to the largest suite they have, which is a magnificient room with antique windows and fittings and a four-poster bed.

The suite itself was vast (ante chamber, bedroom, dressing room and bathroom - about 200 sq m in total) but more importantly beautifully and simply appointed in the very best, traditional, Andalusian style.

The nice thing about this room is that there is no walkway outside the bedroom windows, thus allowing better privacy than the rooms across the way.

Their room was not large, but it was possible to walk around the bed and open windows without being overlooked.

No bar or restaurant but an excellent buffet breakfast was served in a room on the lower floor.

Plenty of choice of restaurants and bars in the nearby area ( We had dinner a few times at Bodega Castaneda, a nice and friendly bar with good food) but the hotel has got many suggestions.

We were given the hotels leaflet of bar and restaurant recommendations on check-in, tried 4 of them and they were great, quite a few not in guide books and a bit off the beaten path.

Excellent breakfast & top list of recommended local restaurants & bars.

BUT it gives you the chance to stoke up seriously on fresh fruit - the restaurant cuisine of Grenada seems to be horrendously unhealthy and to my aging system slightly toxic.

Front desk reception service was excellent, room included breakfast of cold dishes that was above average.

The reception staff were the the most helpful and friendly we have ever met in Spain, and when we arrived they offered to ring the Alhambra for us to check when we would need to pick up our reserved tickets.

If you are hiring a car at the airport, the directions on the hotel web site to get you to the car parking at Puerto Real are spot on.

They were extremely helpful in arrangements for travel and car parking, and also in reserving tickets for the Alhambra which saved a lot of time.

Had a nice room on the top floor, had to carry bags up flights of stairs to both lobby and then once we got out of elevator.

Promised) wired internet didn’t work at all; and no wireless was available.

One thing thoug, a hotel that prides itself on a cutting edge appeal should really offer wireless internet.

The room was charming and pristine clean.

The room is very clean, the furnishings are quite nice and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Our accomodation was simple, practical and clean (the low cost room).

The hotel is a carefully restored mansion; the rooms are beautiful and clean.
