Despite the initial problems we had at the hotel, we still got good value for money from this hotel.
I wanted a hotel with sea view and on the beach front but did not want to pay over the top prices.
All in all it was a lovely hotel - my son and his wife were staying at the Delano and paying mega money, we spent a day with them around their pool but to be honest I preferred ours.
For this hotel the price is cheap and it is worth every penny.
The location is very good, though the neighbourhood is not the best of Miami Beach.
Despite its four-star claims, this property is clearly no more than a THREE star property- clean and in a decent location (see below), but with some real problems.
We were very pleased with the location and the beach.
We didn't try the local bus services, but taxis are inexpensive when compared to the UK - from the hotel to Lincoln Road is about $5.
The cab from Miami International airport was $32 plus tip.
I found my room after a few minutes however it had a very funny smell (like a damp smell) The bed was ok as was my bathroom.
They gave me a room with 2 double beds when I had requested a 1 king bed.
Rooms need refurbishing, the rain came into our room so the carpet near the bed was all wet.
The room was small and smelly, little bathroom with a stained bathtub.
Perhaps our room was an anomaly, but I don't think I've slept in a more uncomfortable bed.
Pool and Bar nice but terrible location for anything else, in middle of nowhere, need a taxi to get to restaurants if you want a drink with your meal.
Food good value evening meal recommend special buffet - eat as much as you wan't Breakfast great.
On the Sunday we stayed, it was Mother's Day in the USA - all the staff in the restaurant were dressed in tuxedos at breakfast, and we all get a glass of champagne with all the ladies also getting a red rose.
The very good and extensive breakfast refreshment bar is special.
The rooms were spotless, pool bar were also very nice and dinner in the restaurant were awesome.
Friendly valets and maid service, with OK front desk staff.
Firstly every staff member that we met, be it the front desk, the bar staff, pool staff, waitresses, conceirge were extremely polite and helpful.
We arrived to the hotel on May 5th 2006 to find that the staff hardly spoke English and the personnel at the front desk were less than hospitable and very impatient.
We raced down to the front desk and the staff refuse to direct us to a Manager.
On the other hand, the lobby is nice, the staff is helpful and friendly and the breakfast buffet is excellent, pool and garden are gorgeous and can not be watched from the boardwalk (unlike most of the other beach hotels).
Pool area nice, beautiful hotel and large lobby.
We had a very poor sleep both nights because we could hear the people in the rooms next to us and above us, every time a door opened anywhere on the floor and the elevators (even though we were about five rooms down from the elevator alcove).
The rooms are clean, the breakfast is superb (fresh made omelettes!
The rooms were tidy,clean and comfortable.
The staff were brilliant and the room was very clean.
Also the room was clean, breakfast buffet was too good.
The outside pool area was nice, the staff were extremely polite and helpful, the rooms were clean.
