Overall: this old 'grand' hotel is not quite four stars, but can be good value for money given location and cleanliness.
Very good location, this old-style hotel and nice price.
On balance, above average hotel price is adequate but noise and no hot water can be a pain in the behind.

The rooms were very large (superior-rooms) with two double beds in each room, a sofa, table and chair, desk, good mini-bar, large closets for clothes and stuff, and a rather large bathroom.
Bed(s) were comfortable and rooms were clean.
The room was clean thought a bit dated in appearance and there was a crazy bed sheet thing going on.
The room and bed was big, and it was very clean.
Rooms have seemingly not been redecorated/refurbished since the 70s and have small single beds (despite booking and paying for a double room) and wood block floors.
Breakfast was quite varied, but be careful on entering/leaving the dining room - many people (including myself) tripped on the uneven floor surface/'folded' carpet.
Delayneys Irish Bar does very good food (but services is slow).
Dont go to Dickens bar the staff have had a humour by-pass and dont like to sell food or drink.
Breakfast was fine, all facilities were clean.
Grandeur in a central position in a very vibrant town, breakfast good.
The hotel is perfectly situated and the reception staff are fast and efficient.

The public area housed the reception and travel desks (both had very helpful staff) and up a few stairs was a bar area, albeit a little on the small side.
Additionally the location is perfect - just across the street from the Opera building, i like the services from the reception to the people clean the.
It looks like there have solved the problem with the entrance with the strip club as you can now only enter from outside, not via the hotel lobby.
Notes: no massages in the weekend, and the sauna should be booked in advance as it fills up quickly.
As soon as the lift door opened I knew that it would not meet the standard I had expected.
It was clean & fresh sheets were provided everyday & the room cleaned well.
Discreet service, clean rooms and very good buffet breakfast.
The bathroom was clean and newly refurbished (no mildewed shower curtains etc).
Room was clean and basic, hotel in general showing some age.
The hotel is clean but the rooms are very basic just scraping a 3 star.
