  It's privately owned but we did have maid service twice a week. The staff at the desk downstairs were great and always willing to answer any questions.

  We had reserved a 1 bedroom oceanview room. Our room was on the 14th floor and had a really nice view of the ocean. Our room was average with a full size refridgerator, a stove, microwave, and all the utensils and cooking equipment you need. The bedroom (which my grandparents stayed in) was o. The bed was just two twins pushed together and not that comfortable.

• I stayed in a studio, with a excellent view of Waikiki Beach and a good view of Diamond Head. The staff at the front desk and the maids were all very nice and helpful! I found it to be clean, safe, and a great location.

• It had a balcony facing the water and another with a view to the hills so the outlook was excellent. Great location just behind the much more expensive Hyattt and just 5 minutes walk to Waikiki beach which by Australian standards is only fair but the atmosphere was great.

  It most definitely needs a refurbish because the room was old looking. There was a lot of noise in the morning but your up early because the sun comes straight into your room (depending on what side your on) Dont know if I would stay there again but the locality was perfect! Really are you going to be in your room ALL DAY LONG?

• We stayed at the Pacfic Monarch for 5days Jan26-31 and we were quite satisfied with our room. On the good side, the kichenette was very handy, it was nice to have a quick, inexpensive breakfast of cereal and toast in your room before heading out for the day. The front desk was friendly and helpful the few times we needed them and the rooftop pool and hottub were nothing fancy but they were clean and in good shape. The AC worked great in our room, we tried sleeping with the lanai door open and although the breeze was nice the street noise was loud (even on the 20th floor).

• After reading all of the reviews, it is obvious that some rooms may be alright and others are terrible. We lucked out and got the worst room in the hotel.

  Arrived on Friday, the 7th of January to find our room was being renovated. I asked to speak to the manager, because we were told we would be staying in the Aston Waikiki Sunset hotel instead of what we had booked at the Pacific Monarch. I am sure Aston did all they could (at least we had a room, elsewhere), but we did not get what we booked at $179. I think I was most upset by not being informed of this decision by Aston or by Royal Hawaii Condo's with whom we booked this condo by a single phone call.

• Just returned home from the Pacific Monarch, the room was clean but some of the furnishing were old.

  Air conditioner did not seem to cool rooms down like.

  The sofa bed needs to be replaced, both times we stayed the couch was in bad shape.
