Residence Inn Houston Downtown/Convention Center - 休斯敦

Rooms were each like a small apt with kitchens and a bathroom in each bedroom.

Shared two 2-bedroom suites among six people and got great rates.

When you first walk in, it feels like a very dated New York Apartment studio.

Although, the outdoor pool and hot tub looked nice, but if you have a killer body and you do not mind exposing yourself next to a fully occupied office building across the street.

The fitness center is very small and essentially matches an identical room in the Courtyard property.

At the Courtyard, you do not receive free breakfast in its restaurant or even coupons to use (there's no Concierge Lounge at either location).

The only thing the Courtyard has over the RI is that it has a restaurant/bar in its lobby.

The complimentary breakfast was very good too.

Service was excellent and the hot and cold buffet breakfast was great.

Hotel restaurant, Humble Cafe, is shared with the Courtyard by Marriott and the weekend of the festival could not handle all the people.

The hotel was excellent and the front desk check in was friendly and quick.

Hotel offered a list of delivery services for dinner.

First, I'll point out that Gold Elite members receive none of the perks or upgraded amentities that they may receive at full service Marriott locations.

I was told by the hotel desk staff that this was "an evolving process" and currently there no benefits offered to Elite members.

Parking was valet only but not uncommon for a downtown hotel.

Only flaw was pool maintenance going on while we were there; our kids couldn't use the pool.

I even wrote a thank you note with $5 for housekeeping since I asked to be cleaned out of order.
