The quality of the rooms may vary widely, as can the price you pay, and although you would choose this hotel for the great location – it was once a real convent - and the view, you will not always be assured of the last.
The hotel’s central location gave us easy access to Montepulcano for a day trip.
Wonderful quaint relaxing picturesque location, lovely hotel and the historic buildings.
The location can't be beat, tucked away on the main street of Pienza, it's almost a secret, we passed by it twice before we found it!
We contacted them before we left home for advice on how to get there as we were travelling by public transport and they booked us a taxi from Siena station.
Pienza suffers a bit from tourism by day, who arrive by bus, are unloaded, stay for an hour or so, and leave again.
I had to use the TV as a stand for my clothes and toilet articles, because there was nothing in the room other than the bed and the TV.
Our room was clean and our bathroom was the typical toilet/shower/bidet layout you will find in Italy.
My single room was so tiny that I could barely walk around the bed.
Our room, which looked out over the valley, was beautifully furnished and very spacious - the bed was supremely comfortable too.
Reasonable rates, the staff were extremely helpful and the bathroom was huge had only bathtub.
We also had a very good meal in the hotel's restaurant which featured terrific food and dishes.
Several good restaurants and a gelateria and bar are within a very short walking distance.
The hotel restaurant is fabulous and the breakfast buffet is excellent.
Great breakfast in a well appointed dining room and good coffee.
The room was spotless and the meal we had in the outside restaurant was lovely.
The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly, our large bathroom was very up-to-date and clean.
Perfect in every way, service, helpful friendly staff and beautiful.
The girl at reception was very pleasant as were most of the staff except one.
Beware of front desk staff seemed to be a little too slick for me.
There is a nice restaurant with a lovely outdoor garden facing a generous pool and the valley below.
The hotel has a large garden with (again) a great view and a large swimming pool further down the hill.
There is a small pool on the lower terrace below the hotel which, although nice for a quick dip and sunbathe, is not for dedicated sun/pool worshippers (but then that's no surprise, inland Tuscany is more about touring).
Additionally the friendly staff was very accommodating in every way and our room was clean.
Pienza was wonderful, the bathroom was clean and modern, breakfasts were very good - excellent coffee.
Our large bathroom was very up-to-date and clean.
