  Romantic and well located, port so we were able to see the big liners comming in. The hotel was very quiet and the staff was very helpful in arranging tours around the island. The service was lovely, the check-in was fast and the main dining room was excellent. The pillow menu made the pillow a luxury, breakfast was superb and the facilities at the Cliffs were fantastic.

  A little house built in the local style and the wine list was naturally expensive.

  The hotel is very quiet and the building is very impressive. Furthermore dime you in that the business center is free and the heated sea water pool is fabulous. Your money for sure can buy far better luxury, the service is traditional and a gorgeous all-black marble bathroom.

  The pool area calm, high tea can be enjoyed over looking the sea and the staff at the hotel were also great. Free newspapers were also available in the lobby, service was superb and the concierges were helpful too. The room was perfect and the pillows were excellent. The food was lovely and facilities were very good.

  Fantastic sea, beautiful City and gardens in this hotel are gorgeous. All staff are very friendly and the rooms are beautifully appointed. The drinks in the mini-bar are all free, the food is ecellent the breakfasts there are great and so we used the exquisite pool for a couple of hours nearly every day.

  30 minutes later a nice bunch of flowers and a remarkable location -- looking out from the room. This hotel is fantastic, the pool side service seemed much better and all windows could also be opened as well. Soft drinks from the mini bar are free, the restaurants are excellent and the gardens are very romantic at night.

  A pool at high tide sea water comes and fantastic view of Funchal harbour from the balcony. The hotel is excellent and old fashioned service would be a simple. The rooms are very comfortable, the Spas very own private sun terrace and a light snack or a full meal. The gardens are glorious.

  A fantastic pool area, charming hotel and beautiful houses on the way incl. The sumptuous old colonial-style interior has a wonderful grandeur and efficient service. Large public rooms, warm mini-bar and clean linen sheets every day.

  Elegant public areas and super hotel. Many nice historical buildings and at 196 Euros/night a reasonable rate. Excellent friendly service, large balcony and complimentary soft drinks from the mini bar. Good food and a choice of restaraunts including fine dining.

  The view was fantastic and overall our stay was enjoyable. Staff was superb and the room was very comfortable. V)The breakfast buffet was exceptional, friendly waiters were excellent at pairing Portuguese wine and the two heated pools were clean.

  Most all the room have a great view and the hotel's restaurant Villa Cipriani is simply fantastic. Service is superb and shower gel plus a few more nice products by Helleboro of Italy. Food are exceptional and the pool is gorgeous.
