The food and service was excellent. Staff were very helpful and courteous without going over the top.

I would have preferred a shower rather than a bath and the wi-fi didn't extend as far as our room

The restaurant staff were particularly helpful, heating up baby food/filling bottles of milk for me etc, which made my stay much less stressful as my baby daughter was unwell and very grumpy for the majority of my stay. I was also very grateful to the reception staff on my return home when I realised I had left my little girls favourite pillow at the hotel. They arranged for the pillow to be sent back to me which saved me a lot of tears from my daughter.

Good food, pleasant atmosphere, helpful staff. Returning guests. Lakeside and country walks from the hotel. Easy parking. Family run.

Decore ok but could preferably be lightened up.

I liked the location of the hotel being very close to lake Windemere. The food in the hotel was excellent. The breakfast was very good. All the staff were very helpful. The selection of wines to accompany meals was also very good. The hotel was within comfortable walking distance of Ambleside.

the suite was lovely and liked how it was positioned outside the hotel itself.

The location was everything we wanted, the scenery was excellent, the staff were very good and nothing was too much trouble and the food which was sourced locally was excellent. A most enjoyable and relaxing weekend, just what the doctor ordered!!

This was our second visit to the Regent and not our last.We love the position of the hotel, close to the water but also easy access to Ambleside and Bowness. A short drive gets you anywhere else in the Lakes and Cumbria. Also the foods great.

Racked my brain, but cannot think of anything.

A Functional Hotel with small but adequate rooms, excellent shower room newly refurbished. Very good breakfast and an excellent position for exploring the Lakes, expensive for what it offers but this is common in this area from my research.

The impact of excellent Management was evident. When I complimented a member of staff she said it was due to their management. The wholly pleasant ambience was I believe due to excellent management and excellent staff working together for each other; a rarity in my experience. ( I have a Masters degree in Management).

We did not really like the menu for the evening meal. That is more a matter of our taste than anything critical of the hotel, assuming that the menu meets other tastes. We like well presented but simple, traditional choices which are not easy to find nowadays!

A pleasant friendly atmosphere in a good location. Good food, nicely presented and served. Would consider a further stay.

Our room - No 6 - was very small with very little storage space. The bed needs replacing as the edges give no support.

It was merely for an overnight stop, so the hotel facilities weren't important. It suited our needs, though.

It was a bit of a walk into Ambleside.

The late breakfast, which was very substantive with lots of choices and served up to 12 noon, meant that there was no worry about getting up late, after a day in the fresh air. The Evening Meal was excellent and the appetizers in the bar, before the meal, followed by petit-fours and coffee afterwards made for a very relaxing evening. The facilities in the room were excellent, the bed was very comfortable, and the view of Lake Windermere from the window was lovely. We heard no noises from other guests.

      There was nothing we disliked.

The breakfast was excellent. The room was clean, but a little cramped for the price. Good location by the lakeside and not far to Ambleside.

High chairs were in short supply and the evening menu was inapproriate for small children (as well as them bot being welcome after 7). The cleaners threw away our packet of clean nappies. So all in all not as family friendly as we'd have liked, although the receptionist went out of her way to give us some of her own child's nappies to cover us.
