very shabby and grubby twin with tiny bathroom very sloping roof so shower over bath could not be used.kettle dirty with empty cartons ect in it.after strong requests we were moved to a family room.adequate but very tired with wallpaper coming off and curtains off party of the track.needs some TLC!

The location was good, with plenty of parking. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast. The food was hot and appetising. there was an excellent choice and the service was excellent too. The staff were efficient and pleasant at the same time. Excellent value for money.

The twin beds in the annexe were both very uncomfortable!

Staff were really helpful and friendly

Room was really small and in the 3rd floor, so a lot of stairs to go there.

Helpful receptionists and breakfast room staff. Breakfasts good but did not understand the change from " Continental " on Thursday and cooked meal on Friday.

Bathroom G02. floor tiles cracked and ungrouted and therefore not too clean . Wiring visible in places. Require grab rails over the bath for older guests and you hit your head on the unit over the sink. The unit needs relocating to the right wall.

Loved the large (for UK) room and price. Huge windows let in a lot of light. Very pleasant. No lift, so lugging bags upstairs is necessary, but some of the staff are willing to help. Lovely sitting areas downstairs if you feel like visiting with others. Very clean and luxury linen.

Okay, the violently purple walls were a bit much...thank heaven they were offset by the pumpkin colored draperies....

Lovely old georgian style place great location and very quiet.

A bit expensive for what it was, bathroom was quite run down and staff were a bit dissinterested. Breakfast was ordinary.

The fact that it was near to the city centre, but nothing else.

Tv did not work. Room was cold on arrival. Smell of damp in shower room. Hot tap dripped. There was dust all over the room. Bed creaked. No heating overnite.

It was a last minute convenient booking. Unfortunately the hotel is showing its age. The room was up three flights of stairs, small, and actually unwelcoming with light fittings not working and light bulbs out within the toilet. The bar had no beer available on tap, the breakfast was specified as English breakfast however it fell short of expectations with slices of ham and hard boiled eggs. I would not recommend the hotel other than a conveniently located budget overnight stay, but not for a booking of more than one night. That said 80 pounds per night would not fit into a budget stay for back-packers. They need to re-think about the place.

As above really. I feel it needs a bit of a re-think and a budget for up-keep.
