Red Wall Hotel Beijing - 北京

The service lacked and it ruined an otherwise great stay in a fabulous location.

I would recommend this hotel for its location, but bring your own cot!

The only reason that I am giving this hotel a 2 is it's location: It really was phenomenal; right at the Forbidden City, and where 15 different bus routes converged that made getting around very easy (if you can read Chinese bus info).

If you are going to the airport at a normal time, taxis pass by the hotel all the time, so probably better to get one that way.

Taxi to the airport -the hotel will arrange one for you BUT it will be double the price it usually is and you need to check whether it included the road toll charge.

The furniture must've have come straight from a dorm room with a bed inadequate for two people (maybe this room was used for staff to crash in?

We got phone calls at 11pm every night asking if we wanted massages, and at one point someone tried to clean our room despite the "Do Not Disturb" sign hanging on our doorknob (it was late at night and we were in bed).

They were very helpful with me finding the special places I wanted to visit I stayed in a Buisness Man roon Very large with King sized bed this room androom for meetings.

Full sized Western Bathroom ( FULL BATH TUB & SHOWER ).

The Chinese rooms are noisy, very small, but have a soft bed.

The breakfasts, however, consist of warmed up meals from the night before and unless you are partial to warmed up curry, fried chicken or pak choy for breakfast it is not really for the western palate.

The breakfast was included in our plan and it had a larger than average variety of western cuisine as well as chinese cuisine.

Restaurant was okay, but many good restaurants in area.

There was a little room next to the restaurant, 3m by 3metres, where there was some melons and toasts and a little bit coffee, and also maybe 15 other hotelgasts, so no breakfast for us that day.

The breakfast buffet had dirty dishes, and was always out of some necessary eating utensil.

The location is not a great deal in Beijing, the hotel are pleasant and friendly, all the staff in the reception are good.

Good location, excellent value for money and very nice staff- specialy from reception desk.

We would like to take this opportunity to compliment all staff at the red wall hotel for the excellent service we exprienced during our stay in november 2006.

Additionally, the rooms were clean (even the dingy one) and service staff were prompt and most courteous.

Despite the room service menu being written in English it was impossible to actually order anything because the staff member on the other end of the phone didn't understand a word of what I was saying.

Reasonable prices, good English of the lobby personnel and english speaking staff was also helpful.

For some reason, any time we tried to get out of the lift at that level we were hurridly put back in the lift and sent back upstairs.

The rooms were average size, very clean and modern.

Also friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, western food poor.

The reception was good and friendly, the room was clean.

The western rooms are large, clean and pleasant.

Hotel itself was clean, staff very helpful and efficient, our beds were not hard at all?
