  The hotel was extremely central and close to many places to eat and drink, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room that we were moved to was best described as 'filthy.

  Staff friendly and helpful manager exceedingly helpful under great constraints, quiet room.

  The location was perfect and quiet room, as was in the back of hotel. The new york style cheesecake was wonderful, the staff were very good and the Manager was particularly attentive and helpfull. The water was very hot, the food and service were excellent.

  Location very noisy indeed and hotel staff friendly. The old building is charming, the beds are comfortable enough and the rooms are generally clean, the heated towel racks are a nice touch even in summer. Food is fantastic.

  Staff were pleasant public areas quirky, the location was excellent and the hotel had a great old feel to, reception were extreamly friendly. The room was lovely, clean, breakfast was lovely and plentiful.

  The location is excellent for someone that would like to be close the town and shops of Colchester, the hotel is very interesting from a historical point of view as dates from the 15th century. Staff are very helpful and services are prompt.

  Thanks for a lovely stay, the helpful staff and im not happy abu water the service unble for repair was late time not good. The cooked breakfast was excellent.

  I liked everything about our stay, lovely staff and bathrooms had ancient fixings meaning the toilet cistern ran for hours. The food was good value.

  Loved and would most certainly stay again, staff all charming. Very comfortable bed and perfect food.

  Street outside noisy all night and dirty sheets. The dinner was not good either.
