Red Lion Bakersfield - 贝克斯菲尔德

This time we got the feeling that this is not the same location we stayed in the past.

Going through the reviews here I understand that the location was changed.

I found my room to be a good value, with a very comfortable bed.

We have always requested room 296 (Suite/ 2 beds / smoking ).

The room suffered from an absence of trash cans (just one small one in the bathroom).

However, the room was very clean and the beds were comfortable.

Due to the location of my room, there was no privacy problem from the billowing curtains, but I can see where in some rooms that would have allowed others a view into the room.

The onsite restaurant is a sports bar and is not family friendly; however, nearby (just around the block) is John's Incredible Pizza, which is great for kids -- it's a sort of combination of Soup Plantation and Chuck E.

The staff was very hospitable, the breakfast included in the room price makes a good deal and sports bar was nice -allowed kids to use the pool table.

The hotel dining room where we ate breakfast was spartan and dirty.

We arrived tired late in the day and the only place to eat on the premises was the bar.

Free wireless internet, very good breakfast.

The service was nice from the staff, the rooms were clean had plenty of good kid channels for my kids.

When I called the hotel the staff was nice enough to retrieve them from our room and hold them at the front desk until we came back through Bakersfield 3 days later.

Upon arrival the front desk staff was very casual, wearing polo shirts and talking to each other and not looking you in the eye.

The stay was very pleasant and the minute I entered the lobby I knew everything was just fine.

If you are traveling in summertime, the pool is great for kids.

Free newspapers are available in the lobby.

The rooms were clean & had plenty of good "kid channels" for my kids, ages 2 and 4.

The room was clean though the carpet could probably use a steam cleaning, there were a few spots in the room and in the hallway.
