All in all, what can I say, the hotel is excellent and represents fantastic value for money.
Despite this wee glitch (and a particularly arsey and argumentative waiter who tried to make out WE were in the wrong when we complained about a meal), we would recommend this SUPERB value-for-money hotel.
Good location for metro, the subway is clean and fantastic value for money - 260 Euros for a couple for four nights b & b in a luxury hotel.
You do hear noise in the hallways and the staff was a little inflexible -- but overall not bad and a hotel that you can get a decent value for the money.
A really nice park, situated in a quiet street and good location - I return there every time during 6 years.

The hotel is located in a fairly quiet location of Lisbon, but is about 5 minutes by taxi from the busier areas (costing about 5 euros for a taxi ride), which was perfect for us.
Location was convenient for the airport bus and only a short walk to the metro or bus stop.
Lisbon has lots of pastry shops, good public transport (buy the 7colinas ticket for all day bus, tram and metro use) and we always felt safe.
My wife and I did not fit in one "double bed", so finally we had to stay in a two beds room.
The room was nice size, the bed comfortable, the TV reception fine.
Found bed to be comfortable and plenty of toiletries in very clean room.
Nevertheless, we were moved to a twin room which was generally satisfactory but a bit annoying as we requested a king bed.
The service is exceptional and friendly, i didn't mind the hard bed, 2 public computers+printer - used once to print out a map - convenient.
We did not actively seek out fine cuisine and although restaurant and cafe food is OK it is repetitive.
A breakfast buffet was included in my rate and had the widest variety of food I've seen in a long time, with solid quality (this mattered, as I did not have great luck on the restaurant scene in Lisbon).
The bedrooms are spotless, the bar is friendly and breakfast is perhaps the best I've come across.

There is a small but adequate spa consisting of a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and a gym, which we got some use out of (the jacuzzi is perfect for when you have been on your feet all day).
The health spa was a nice touch also, with a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, which is a very nice place to relax in after a hard day out before you head out for dinner.
The jacuzzi wasn't working when we were there, which was a bit disappointing, but we enjoyed the dry sauna.
Beautiful romantic decoration, good service and rooms were clean and comfortable.

Yacuzzi, steam bath and sauna were of good quality and seemed clean.
