  I was impressed with the lobby and couldn't believe the tropical gardens around the pool area. We had a real nice room right at the pool, very comfortable beds that felt like pillowtop mattresses. Some of the reviews say "you only get what you pay for" really is insulting this hotel. You get a nice clean roomy room, free shuttle service twice, airport/cruiseport, a full hot/cold buffet breakfast all for around $100. Very very happy with the hotel and service!

  The staff was very friendly and professional. The wait for the hotel shuttle was a little longer than we wanted after a long flight. However, the staff willingly carried our bags up/down the stairs for us. The restaurant staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would've preferred our luggage being stored in a special holding room while we ate breakfast, rather than just stacked in the middle of the lobby, which quickly became inundated with luggage and cruisers waiting on the shuttle. If you're looking for a decent, no frills (except that wonderful free breakfast buffet) hotel for a one-night pre-cruise stay, it works.

  First overall impression was great - the lobby is quite nice and gives an impression that things have been updated. The front desk staff was helpful and patient with tons of people checking in and checking out for their cruises. Next impression was of the pool area - this was very nice - Tiki Bar and pool area were just what we needed after a very early flight. The bathroom was ugly - clean but ugly and it looked like the tile had been re-grouted a hundred times or more.

  The rooms have obviously not been updated. Surprisingly, the beds were quite comfortable but other than that - it looked as though our room had been broken into a number of times with the state of the door (like a crowbar had been used to force entry). This didn't make me feel very safe and the walls were quite thin so you could here a lot that went on around your room.

  We stayed at the Ramada because the price was relatively good and it included breakfast as well as a free shuttle to our cruise port (remember to make a reservation the day before to save yourself a place). Probably the nicest thing was the lovely tropical landscaping around the pool! However, we discovered that there is one nice marina restaurant hidden right at the end of the street the hotel is on - if you walk to the end of the block, you can have a lovely dinner outdoors on the back patio overlooking the water.

  The hotel itself seemed a little worn, with standard budget motel-type accomodations - but it was adequate, and everything worked in the room.

  Dinner in the restaurant was good and the highlight of our stay.

  The rooms were damp and the carpet had that sticky feeling. Shuttle from airport, my mom and brother waited over an hour! We waited in line for 30 minutes, then, there was no coffee, no hot food, no milk for cereal. Shuttle to the port: so you sign up for a time and you are supposed to be in the lobby 15 mins.

  Clean, nice pool area with tikki bar, rooms are comfortable no noise facing the pool. The kids enjoyed swimming at the pool while all the adults lounged around. The free breakfast in the am was good and none of us were starving when we got on the ship.

  I asked for 8 rooms on the bottom level all facing the pool. My family and I arrived at differant times and none of us had any trouble with the shuttle. The food was good, reasonable prices but service slow. On arrival I booked the shuttle to the cruise port for the next day at the time I wanted with out a problem. The only problem we had was hot water in the a.

  They have wonderful staff. We see the same staff everytime we go.

  When our rooms are not ready they store our luggage and we go have lunch out at the Tiki Bar or go next door to the Marina.

  I understand that there is a pleasant restaurant in the marina. The included shuttle service both to and from the cruiseport and airport was OK. Service personnel were pleasant, especially considering the stresses of the crowds they were handling.

  Rooms were very basic and could be a bit shabby. The lobby is small and totally packed with people and luggage, waiting either to check in or get on a shuttle.

  With the major exception of those working in the restaurant, the staff was very personable and helpful. Shuttle to cruise port is convenient.

  The bar in the lobby smells like someone used an old nasty mop to clean up patrons' releases.

  If you dare to stay one night before a cruise, bring flea/knat bug spray (they are all over the walls) and check the tub to make sure the water goes down!
