I booked this hotel through the Hotels website for the amazing price of $90 / night (taxes included).
The area is fine and hotel location is not bad.
In any case, I noticed that there was always a taxi waiting outside.
Okay it is a short walk from the centre of Madrid but there is a taxi rank right outside where you can jump in and spend less than 6 Euros goin to any part of the old town.

The hotel is terrific, with clean attractive public spaces, and a great room with brand new beds and a very nice bathroom.
Clean hotel, great welcoming staff and the bed was very comfortable.

We didn't have breakfast because we always like to eat out for breakfast, not because we had heard otherwise!
The breakfast was nice BUT the hot food was served much later than the cold selections, and was not even hot!
Bar area are pleasant and good for a base travelling around via Atocha.
The accommodation itself was excellent and breakfast buffet was good.
The hotel itself is not bad, but the staff at the front desk and during breakfast is unexperienced and not friendly at all.
Many other hot spots in 10 minutes or less, for the price we paid and staff was very friendly.
T station wasn't too bad, nice clean hotel and the staff was very helpful and pleasant.
