Getting there

Perth Airport (PER) receives international and domestic flights. The Indian Pacific trans-continental railway connects Perth with Sydney via Kalgoorlie, Adelaide and Broken Hill. These journeys are far from cheap but are very much worth taking due to amazing sceneries on the way. There is currently no regular coach service across the Nullarbor Plain between Perth and Adelaide.

Getting around

The Perth metropolitan area is quite comfortable and inexpensive. Public bus services reliably run between bus and train stations. Transperth operates a free CAT bus service in Perth, Northbridge, Fremantle and Joondalup. The central Perth station in the City is the one to get off for seeing the main attractions and sites. The Esplanade station is adjacent to the busport from where buses run in various directions.

The majority of beaches are easily accessible by public transport. For instance, Scarborough beach can be reached by catching the 400 bus after getting off at Glendalough underground station. The Cottesloe beach lies down Forrest Street and can be reached by taking the Fremantle line to Cottesloe station.

Not a bad location and good value. The building was across the road from the free bus and staff were assertive. Rooms were clean and spacious, the lovely receptionist Vicki was very helpful and pleasant.
