Built in 1875, Macquarie Manor has been restored to a 4 1/2 Star boutique accommodation that combines the Victorian and Edwardian style decor and furniture with modern luxury. The hotel is ideal for business or leisure travellers. Rooms and suites are spacious and well-equipped, all with ensuite facilities, mini bars, LCD, Free Broadband, tea/coffee facilities and most with a DVD or VHS players. Breakfast available at a charge. Front Office Hours: 7am-8pm. If arriving outside these hours contact hotel prior to arrival for late check-in. Limited free parking.

At a different price point, this hotel would have deemed adequate, but we were paying nearly 160AUD/night and had much better.
Our only complaint was that the price we were able to get for the hotel did not really match the amenities provided.
Nice place to stay but for the price you may better off in a larger hotel.
The best feature is the location, only a few minutes walk from Battery Point, a charming neighborhood, with lots of cafes and restaurants.
In terms of location, Hobart isn't a huge place but regardless, we found the Macquarie Manor was close by to all the major attractions and in terms of driving, was easy to get to.
As far as location, comfort, service and overall value goes, the Macquarie Manor is ahead of its field in Hobart.
The location is walking distance to anything you need in Hobart, whether it is Salamanca Place or the city centre.
It is a beautifully presented Hotel with large rooms and high ceilings in a very central location.
The rooms were very spacious - we actually had 1 queen bed with 2 singles, a spacious room, bathroom was small with no bathtub but a shower instead, there was a small love seat with a small TV.
Beautiful 4 poster bed, huge room, amentiies replaced daily etc.
Not an enormous room but plushly furnished in genuine Victorian era antiques including a mammoth carved mahogany four-poster bed.
So my verdict is it was lovely, bed was comfy, the room was nice, it was at the front of the house (left of front door as you enter) and the traffic noise was not a problem at all.
Our room was warm and inviting while I'm sure they have the best beds in Hobart.
Breakfast was a treat and sitting in the dining room with its old fashioned charm really was a lovely way to start the day.
The hot breakfast served the next morning was divine, as was the dining room in which it was served.

The staff were lovely and it was very clean and snug but the only minute criticism I'd have is at breakfast they serve eggs and meat in the same hot plates, so not so good if you don't eat meat.
Breakfast in the morning was lovely and again, the staff were very friendly.
It is historic in style but with a modern feel and all the touches such as air con, broadband and a lovely relaxed feel complimented by sincere and efficient service by the staff.
All the staff at Maquarie Manor are fantastic with unbelievable service day and night in a surrounding of quite and peaceful luxury.
Excellent and friendly boutique hotel with very friendly and helpful staff who know what customer service is about.
Parking at the back door or on the street in front very convenient.
They have a small parking lot (car park) in the back that fits about 10 cars, you can also park on the street as well after 6pm and before 8am.
It was very comfortable, big, and had free plug-in high speed internet.
High speed internet access was available but throghout Australia we found that it usually did not come free.
Rooms have been tastefully restored and are immaculately clean.

Our room was very large with a high ceiling, a sofa and coffee table, and a nice minie bar with free sherry. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was excellent.
