Directly beside the beautiful beach, great location and the hotel possesses possibly the best pool.
Great location re the beach, impressive hotel and amazing lobby leading into beautiful gardens.
To summarise; positives -great hotel, great pools, great location re the beach.
Its a very impressive hotel in a lovely location.
Also watch the transfer time from Faro - said in our brochure to be 1 hour (by taxi), but really 1 hr 30 mins if the driver sticks to the speed limit!
The rooms are spacious and beds comfy with an overpriced mini-bar (same as everywhere really!
Got a Suite for 50€/night double room with ocean view in low season.
The room we (my wife and 1 year old) stayed in was a family suite, which was excellent although the furnishings were a bit of a danger for our newly walking one year old.
Stayed in a sew view family suite perfectley adequate and kept clean by room service.
Reception was good, the rooms were large and the food was fabulous.
Good selection of food available at both breakfast and dinner buffets and there's a few restaurants just 500 yards along the coach in Islantilla village.
The commercial centre -5 mins walk away -was the only area for shopping ( just boutiques,a supermarket & pharmacy really) with restauants on the next two levels, offering tapas, pizza & a cocktail bar & restaurants specialising in fish.
Breakfast, there is a good choice of food but the restaurant can get very busy and is quite impersonal.
Pool restaurant for lunch and the al a carte restaurant for dinner were both very good, There is an English menu in both restaurants and starters can easily be shared between you.
Whilst the hotel boasts 3 restaurants only the buffet was on the half board package (no credit for the a la carte - never saw anyone in that restaurant).
The hotel needs to focus on many areas, especially quality of service.
We went HB and the quality of service and food is, in my view, not 4 star.
Very few staff members speak English but we managed to get by, just have patience.
Granted the staff don't speak much if any English, but they understood my small amount of Spanish and we found them very helpful.
Good place for golfing, sun-bathing & spa lovers!
The beach is fantastic and the indoor pool is free.
