The Puerta del Camino Hotel is the perfect place to base yourself in Santiago city, one of the most beautiful Spanish cities. The city’s trade fair center is across the road, while the nearby park de Carlomango will please those enjoying long and quiet walks. A short five minute taxi ride will take you to the cathedral of St. James and the store El Corte Ingles.

Getting there.

Lavacolla-Santiago Compostela airport is 9km away from the hotel, which is about 8-minute drive by taxi or 10-15-minute ride by local bus. Otherwise it is easily reached by car: upon your arrival at the international airport head towards the city and follow signs to Palacio de Congresos and Estadio San Lázaro.

Getting around.

The most commonly used way of transport is walking as Santiago de Compostela is a small city. But Santiago’s bus service runs several routes (lines C2, C4, 5, 15) from a stop outside the side-entrance to the Puerta del Camino. The price of the Bus ticket is 0.90€ but if you get the Bus Card (only paying a deposit of 3€ for the card) the tickets will cost you 0.55€. The timetable and the Bus Card are available at the buses or at the Bus Station. The Puerta del Camino offers to its guests a free of charge car park.

  Ample secure underground parking facilities and just across the street from the conference hall I was attending. Hotel staff were very helpful and trustable internet connection was reallt good.

  Taxi fare to city is cheap, spacious areas to relax and have a drink, beds are comfortable and accomodations were clean and functional. The breakfast is excellent and generous.

  Luxury accomodation on the town outskirt and beautiful surroundings. Nice place to stay, lobby all very large and great staff. Big and clean room, i liked the breakfast buffet.

  A taxi ride to the center of town is inexpensive and readily available, the rooms are a good size, modern and very comfortable.
