I don't know of anyone who visits SoBe and stays in their hotel room, so why pay the big price?
If you want to save some money, but still be in the heart of Miami's deco district, I strongly reccomend this hotel.
If you want to get the full South Beach experience, I warmly recommend the President hotel, you can't beat it in location and price.
The President is a very old hotel and has kind of that musty stench about it, but for the price and the location it got the job done.
Top location in the Art Deco area at a reasonable price and this is a nice hotel located right in the heart of south beach Miami.

The location was very close to most anything you’ll want to walk to.
Linoleum tiles peeling off the floor, mold in shower, shower did not drain so by the end of a shower you were standing in a foot of water-sickening.
wifi compared to before you had to steal from across the street and clean and served its purpose as a place to stay at the Miami Boat Show.

The bathroom was ok - but had no outlets, had to dry my hair in the room, and move the mirror on the wall onto the spare bed because it was too high.
If you're going to South Beach to stay in your hotel, this isn't the place you want to be - it's a clean room with a bed, a shower and tiny TV with basic cable service.
There were 4 of us staying in one room and we had requested 2 double beds but they gave us one bed.
It smelled, rooms were small, furniture is old, and to top it off you have to fight with the bugs on your bed!
We didn't drink at the hotel bar, but had breakfast there a couple of times, which was cheap and decent quality.
If that's not you, go there for a drink to enjoy the super friendly bar/restaurant staff and relax knowing you don't have to retire in the dump upstairs.
Again, why anyone would eat there instead of a restaurant on Ocean Drive or Lincoln Road is beyond me.

Very contemporary, drinks at the bar were fantastic.
Front desk staff was friendly, there was a small damage in the room we reserved and resort fee included great continental breakfast.

Hotel is like new and the representatives at the front desk reflect good customer service.
We got a room next to the elevator on the Lobby level, which kept us awake all night and we had cockroaches and black bugs.
Moreover the Hotel was nice and lobby was clean and bright.
Housekeeping was loud in the morning and sprayed incecticide while we were trying to sleep.
Then, we would wake up to the sound of the ancient vacuum cleaners at 8-9AM which actually sounded like high speed drills.
The hotel was clean, actually spotless, the room was perfect, the location was excellent and staff very friendly.
We had a clean and tidy corner room with a great view of Collins Street.
