Make sure you stay in the classic room with the view of the city. The location is stunning and good, 2 km from Palace of the Dukes of Braganza.

The location was central, just next door to a hilltop in the outskirts of Guimaraes and a hill above the town of Guimaraes. It also was in the church attached to the pousada. We visited the poolside bar and greatly enjoyed the refreshing drinks.

We had a large American breakfast with a huge variety of meals. The room was well-appointed and large - enjoyed the beautiful bathroom. The location of the hotel was stunning, close to nature.

Modern place overall, it is fairly clean, location is stunning in a monument. All in all they offer friendly service. It has free parking, poolside bar. Thank you for very relaxing time here!

Lovely location on hillside, and only about 15 minutes' walk to Guimaraes centre. Amazing food in the poolside restaurant in the vicinity.

I had extensive and varied breakfast. My brand-new room came with quite reasonable WiFi, bar, good view.

Impressive restored monastery on sacred site. Original wing rooms unrivaled in Europe. Wonderful pool. Best breakfast in 5 Pousadas. Stellar staff. Worth going out of your way for.

It was trip and we would stay here again. This was a perfect stay during winter time. Location: the hotel was close enough to the hill to the historic centre, both the restaurant and the bar and a former monastery that is so beautiful and can be seen from across the city. The pool was lovely, the staff was very efficient. Had breakfast in the dining room.

This place is really lovely and it is an experience to stay here! It basically feels like you were given a key to history and like you get to run around the halls where there are normally "do not enter" or " do not touch" signs. Really cool. It's set up on the hill away from the center of town, but it is still walkable. If you want to be in the middle of the action though, this place isn't it. The staff was incredibly friendly and the restaurant is good if not a little pricey. I only stayed one night but would definitely return. The gardens are gorgeous and there is a pool too with a fantastic view, so might be nice to come laze by the pool for a few days.

Lovely setting near Guimaraes, not too far to walk into town. Hotel was very big with lots of antique artefacts dotted around. Swimming pool was excellent with nice views.

the mini-bar prices and food prices were very pricey, given the general prices in the surrounding cafes/bars/restaurants.

This place is a great starting point for exploring the area, and I had a comfortable stay without any issues.

Staff is very, very friendly. Location is overwhelming, beautiful, one in a kind.

Because of short-stay visitors (most guests stay only one, two or three days) the hotel only comes to life after 16:00. Nice and quite though !

We enjoyed the beauty of the Pousada. The chapel was open on the night we were there and we were able to sit there for a few moments. It was lovely and peaceful. I felt that the entire facility was elegant.

Our only disappointment was the restaurant. Staff were attentive and very professional, but the food was just fair.

The building itself was stunning, with original features everywhere and beautifully restored. The gardens and pool were also impressive, providing a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The location was perfect, just a short walk downhill from the town, which turned out to be the prettiest and most historic town we saw in Portugal.

That there was no bar available during the day until 19:00, forcing guests to go to the snack bar at the pool. the attached church was only open on weekends for services, so we were unable to visit inside during our stay.
