Pousada Abracadabra

Another plus for Abracadabra is the location.

I once went to the Brava Hotel, which is on praia brava - it is kind of nice (although a bit overdone and over-stylished), but the location is absolutely bad (and also too far away from the centre).

The concierge , Sebastian, made excellent recomendations for daily activities, including the location of places we would have never otherwise known about.

Overall the hotel was pretty good, impeccably clean, had a great view and excellent location.

The moment we walked into our room we fell in love with the place - I highly recommend you staying in one of the superior vista rooms like we did.

Tiny rooms, more tiny bathrooms and, worst of all, unbelievable smell from the plumbing.

Every morning the bathroom was infested with mosquitos from this window/vent.

The bathroom had a window probably as a replacement for exhaust fan.

We booked a room that overlooked the harbor from the top of the hill, with a private terrace.

The views were great, the proximity to Rua das Pedras was perfect (about a 5 minute walk, but many good restaurants are even closer along Orla Bordot), the breakfast was above average, and I found the service and cleanliness to be perfect.

He also got us reservations for one of the BEST and most elusive restaurants we have ever eaten at.

The hotel doesn't have a main restaurant for dining but guests are invited to use the facilities at the sister hotel, Casas Brancas (which is two doors down the road) and the town centre is only a 5 minute walk from hotel.

Abracadabra is a close walk to the center of town for ease of access for restaurants, shopping or other conveniences with out having to use a car or taxi.

Having breakfast there, or watching the sunset from a poolchair, with the sea and all the small fishing boats in front of you, is just amazing.

I can truly say that the service was one of the best I have ever seen.

It had that kind of friendly and personalized service you can only get in small hotels.

Any other hotel could be truly happy to have such a great reception desk!

The staff were all very efficient and very friendly.

The pool is small but fine, the terrace has a stunning view and plenty of space, the breakfast is great and the people are very welcoming and friendly.

The view from the pool terrace is absolutely beautiful.

The terrace was accessible to the garde around the pool and was furnished with an Indonesian daybed, and a hammock for lounging.

This is quite a simple place, not deluxe in the rooms, but very comfortable and clean.

I had a standard room, which was absolutely fine and very clean.
