Posada Mariposa

The location is so close to mamita's beach that you can feel it and at the risk of being redundent, the mariposa is awesome.

We liked the location a lot, it was on the 5th AVE and also close to the beach.

The location, on the 5th avenue, is excelent ; few steps away from Mamita´s beach.

I didn't want to miss my bus to the airport so I just gave them my credit card and they charged me 101 dollars.

When we were waiting for our airport transfer on our last day, they helped us to get in touch with and deal with the company.

I was led to my room on the third (top) floor - it wasnt huge, but it had a queen and full bed, and a very ample bathroom.

The only thing that makes me write that it's not terrible is that the bed wasn't bad and the room was clean and tidy.

So for the remainder of the vacation, the two of us slept on the single bed in the living room.

I guess it was sort of weird not being able to flush toilet paper down the toilets, but you get used to it after a day, and besides, that's the way it is in any non-resort place, or so I hear.

This hotel does not offer the high end services of the mega room hotels, just clean rooms, friendly staff at a reasonable price.

Right across the street there´s an excelent italian restaurant and a coffee shop that serves delicious breakfasts and free internet.

No restaurant at the hotel, but many great restaurants surround it.

Very Mexican in a quiet location, short walk to the beach and just across the road to a restaurant which provides an Italian, American, Mexican etc breakfast.

In the reservation there were 3 option for breakfast, and we discovered that the hotel doesn't have a restaurant and it's not possible to have breakfast there or everywhere else.

On the next morning my mom and sister left early in the morning to the airport and I went to eat breakfast and on a last little shopping trip.

The service staff was excellent, our room was always clean.

The Posada Mariposa was fantastic and the front desk staff was very nice.

Most of the staff are very helpful and sweet (except for one surly receptionist ).

Cleaning staff were good and the employees were very friendly and accommodating.

What it came down to was value, and we felt that we overpaid a good $20-30 per night for what we got, given the lack of amenities (view, elevator, pool, secure parking, etc.

Of course, it was kind of annoying looking across the lobby and seeing THREE housekeepers sitting down at break/lunch, but it wasn't a big deal in the scheme of things.

We asked where the hotel parking was, and he said the hotel had no parking, and we had to park on the street.

Very clean rooms in a safe quiet area, nice atmosphere and friendly staff at a reasonable price.

Staff is very accommodating, the rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Well just returned from Playa del Carmen 06/01-06/09, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean.

The staff is pleasant, the rooms are clean and the Argentine guy that runs the one closest to the Mariposa is super cool too.

The staff is very nice and the rooms are clean and the aircondition makes you even freeze when outside everything is melting.
