We truly enjoyed its amazing location.
We had a modern and airy room with a great private terrace overlooking the rooftops and with a quiet atmosphere. The staff was reasonably good - we would stay here again.

This hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of a historic town. The building itself, an 18th century palace, is brimming with original details, making it a truly unique and charming place to stay. The central location is unbeatable, with numerous attractions just a short walk away. The service provided by the staff is top-notch, with a special shout-out to Ana at the front desk. The set-off courtyards and the groovy restaurant and bar area add a touch of elegance and sophistication to the overall experience.
All was perfect.

The cool, serene atmosphere, the architecture with internal courtyards surrounded by Arabic arches and columns, all gave the feeling that we were staying in a truly Spanish setting and that we had found what 'real' Spain is about. Our bedroom was very large with extrawide bed and a sitting area with sofa , and had interesting features - vaulted ceiling and stone floor. Breakfasts were excellent; marvellous fresh orange juice, cheeses, serrano, tomatoes, toast, served in a beautiful courtyard by a smiling waitress.
the street at the back of the hotel, on to which one of our windows looked out, was run down

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The value for money was excellent with affordable prices for spacious rooms. The attention to detail was evident throughout, especially in the traditional furniture and the high ceilings. I loved the private terrace overlooking the rooftops, it provided a wonderful view. The breakfast, which was included in the price, was served in a nearby cafe and was a great way to start the day.
All was superb, no improvements needed.

We were greeted by a very helpful receptionist - always a bonus. We were bowled over by the sumptuous suite which was enormous and in a beautiful courtyard. The hotel is well located and it is a short distance to the friendly and very Spanish square of tapas bars. A further 15 minutes walk is the estuary strip and the charming restaurants and pleasant beach but in May both were quiet. The bustling square was preferred.
A common feature of hotels in historic parts of Spain is finding them - Posada de Palacio is no exception. Useful signposts seemed to either evaporate at the crucial time or be rendered useless by roadworks. There is no parking provided but we had no problem finding parking on the street (free) close by.

This was the second time we stayed at the Posada de Placio. Again we found that the reception staff are cold and unfriendly - no welcome on arrival, no thanks on leaving. The rest of the staff are very nice. We liked the new gastropub but the menu and cooking need some refinement. The hotel itself is a lovely mixture of old and new and quite eccentric in ways but it's a lovely place to stay. A little warmth from the front of house staff would greatly improve the whole experience - there is no feeling of being welcome or that your custom is appreciated which contrasts greatly with other places we stayed in during this latest visit to Spain e.g. Casa de las Merdedes in Malaga where the staff are extremely warm and friendly.
As above.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel in a charming old town. This hotel exceeded my expectations in several ways. the value for money was exceptional. I couldn't believe the affordable prices for such a lovely hotel. Secondly, the attention to detail was evident throughout the hotel. From the basic amenities to the well-appointed rooms with nice balconies, everything was thoughtfully considered. Lastly, the location was superb. Situated on a hill, it offered a great private terrace overlooking the rooftops, and it was conveniently close to the center of town. There was even an excellent cafe for breakfast just around the corner in Plaza de la Paz which felt like stepping into a 500-year-old castle.
Nothing to mention, everything was okay.

Lovely gardens and charming layout make it a picturesque stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable with all expected amenities. Location was perfect, just a short walk from town.
The service was poor during our stay. The front desk staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful.
