The only criticism is that the hotel bar charges an extortionate price for beverages when you can go across the street to the square and pay a fraction of the price!

There were lots of good value restuarants with river views just along the quay; we ate in the hotel once - a bit more expensive but extremely good and sadly underused in the evenings.

However, we felt that the hotel itself was quite average for its price range.

Pestana Porto Hotel is located in the Ribeiro district of Porto and situated in the most attractive and convenient location for a hotel in Porto.

The location is excellent and the hotel is very well located as a tourist destination.

Central location from to enjoy and the hotel is excellently located in the historic centre of Porto.

A taxi from the airport is 22 euros, but the metro is only 1.

I would recommend taking the metro to and from the airport.

The room was in actual fact a suite with a small television in the lounge area and a large wall mounted television screeen in the bedroom.

Our room was big enough, with a nice bathroom and very comfortable beds.

The bed was huge and very comfortable, we had freshly cut flowers daily and all rooms and public areas were clean.

Our room was great, the bed very comfortable.

We had a small bed for our daughter and the room was somewhat small.

There is also a small bar (mainly empty on the nights we were there) and a restaurant which serves an excellent buffet breakfast but which was again almost empty at night - possibly vecause it is expensive and elaborate by local standards.

We did not eat meals at the hotel apart from breakfast which was adequate but there are plenty of restaurants a stroll from the hotel.

The staff was friendly, the bathroom was large and the restaurant we ate breakfast very modern and charming.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful booking restaurants, taxis and a visit to Taylor's Port Cave Restaurant - definitely worth a visit either for lunch or dinner.

The whole place is decorated in great taste and the restaurant where we ate breakfast very modern and charming.

The view was nice, committed staff made this stay most pleasant and the service personnel were very friendly.

The front desk staff always smiled, greeted us by name each time we came in the front door, and provided a recommendation for dinner that was magnificient.

The prime location giving a beautiful, near the hotel there is a typical restaurant called Ora Viva and front desk staff the best.

The location was perfect, hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, service was excellent in all regards.

The hotel is comfortable, the lobby is very modern looking and nor is.

The lobby and patio out front are fun - especially in good weather.

Not much to the communal areas of the hotel - a few seats in the lobby and some cafe-style tables and chairs on the sidewalk.

The room was pretty and clean, the hotel staff helpful.

We had breakfast delivered to our room as it was my birthday and we had a lovely selection of pastries, bread, jam, ham and cheese and some fresh orange juice.

The Pestana added some nice touches like a few stems of fresh flowers in the bathroom each day and the next day's weather report slipped under your door each evening.

    The location was perfect, hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, service was excellent in all regards. The bathroom was amazing and the elevator was spacious. The breakfast was wonderful.

    Wonderful beautiful location and the lovely old trams. The hotel staff helpful and occupying several renovated buildings. The iconic bridge and probably the best in town. Good restaurants nearby and well worth the money so relaxing.

    Pillows were not very comfortable, large bathroom as we saw in the advertisement.

    Location makes worthwhile and served us complimentary glasses of port wine on arrival. A very beautiful hotel, several riverfront/quaside very nice restaurants just steps from the lobby and the next to the famous bridge. Old town, great service and our room was large dull.

    The location is perfect, the port lodges on the other side and monuments as you'd like to see you are in to kind of things. The hotel is comfortable, the lobby is very modern looking and nor is easy to find as access is down a little narrow street. The staff are friendly and large marble bath. Breakfast is good.

    Porto is a lovely city, we received a very helpful recommendation of a port cellar to visit and the staff's attention to detail make a wonderful place to stay. The services is really nice and the room is large. The breakfasts are excellent.

    Location cannot be beaten, the tram to Foz is well worth and a modern hotel that retains character of old town. The staff are friendly and shower head distributed water all round the bathroom. Many restaurants close by serving exceptional seafood.
