Pestana Delfim Portimao - Portimão

The location is excellent for a relaxing holiday close to the glorious beach which stretches for 3 miles along the coastline.

The location was great, being close to the beach down a sloping track.

Comfortable, clean hotel in a great location, only 5 mins walk to the beach which is fantastic.

Holiday started well; the taxi was on time, and smooth trip to airport.

We took a trip in to portamao, this was nice, there is a cortesy bus from the delphim and a taxi was around 5 euro.

Before our holiday, we contacted the hotel to request a room with a double bed as opposed to a room with twin beds, and thankfully the hotel did arrange this for us.

We booked a sea-view room this year and were pleasantly surprised that we had been upgraded to a studio which was hugh, having a bedroom seperate sitting room, small kitchen, bathroom and two verandas with fabulous views of the beach and pool.

The room and the bathroom were very clean; both were very well designed and decorated.

We each had our own sinks in the bathroom, and the bathtub/shower area even had its own fancy lighting.

Just booked Bed & Breakfast as we prefer to sample the local restaurants, of which there are plenty just a short walk if your brave (well lit road, not much in the way of pavements) or cheap taxi ride away to the centre of Alvor.

E was 15 euros in the hotel restaurant, 10 euros in most restaurants in the village, we actually saw it in a shop for 3.

There was all the usual things for breakfast, fresh fruit (well normally only oranges and melon) the rest was tinned, yoghurts, cereal, cooked breakfasts, cheeses and hams, and croissants and pastries etc.

The staff were nice, breakfasts were first class - friendly staf - - bedrooms were very clean and tidy, a great restaurant built into the cliff.

You can choose to eat in several Pestana hotels, or you can use your half board supplement towards eating in the a la carte restaurant.

We ate at the a la carte restaurant once which was ok-food was hot, but we had to pay altho you do get 15 euros each reduction.

The reception and room service staff are very friendly and helpfull, however we found the dining room waters to be quite abrupt.

The reception staff could do with a bit of training in customer relations- our only complaint!

The hotel was overpriced for drinks, and the lifts were a problem but we were allowed to use the service lifts behind reception.

Room service staff are very friendly and helpfull, pool is lovely.

The pool area very nice and relaxed atmosphere.

The beach is very good as 's the end of and the hotel also supply a towel for use round the pool.

The 'indoor' swimming pool is a joke, think goldfish bowl and you get the idea.

The house keeping service is very efficient and when we got back to our room following breakfast it was all clean and tidy.

07, hotel needs a bit of decorating, but rooms clean and comfortable.

The bathroom was nice, the breakfast was excellent and unfriendly waiters did not clear tables quick enough.

Rooms: Agree with most other reviews, spotlessly clean.

The hotel and our room were large,spacious and very clean.
