It is a terrible shame that such a disreputable hotel is located in such an impressive location.

Well placed for the beach, great location and hotel located in quiet area.

The location was lovely being a short walk from the village & set very close to the beach.

Faro airport to the hotel costs around 60-70 euros so prepare yourselves for the long journeys between the hotel and airport.

It started well with emails exchanged quickly and efficiently with the hotel to confirm our booking (through Booked.net) and to schedule a taxi from Faro.

Stayed in the Beach Club part of the hotel which consists of studio and 1 and 2 bed apartments on 3 levels.

Be warned a tripple room is twin beds plus a camp bed.

Large pool (a little cold for me) plenty of room ,beds towels etc modern room and bathroom Excellent breakfast but evening dining uninspiring and expensive.

Also,the towels are generally changed twice a day,when a maid would visit the rooms late evening,turn down the bed covers and even leave a chocolate on the pillow-not here I'm afraid.

I would definintely suggest paying extra for a sea view room (& suite if you can afford it - massive lounge area as well as bedroom).

Room is great, food/Drink - Excellent choice for breakfast lunch in main restaurant and huge Outdoor pool - saltwater - I believe slightly heated.

Not too many people eating at the hotel in the evening, and would recommend that guests try the restaurant on the beach below the hotel, or walk into Alvor which has a couple of great restaurants on the harbour.

Didnt use the restauarant (other than for breakfast)- simply because we prefer to eat out in the numerous excellent restaurants in the area.

We only ate in the restaurant at breakfast, which was a buffet and reasonably well-stocked, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The reception staff were outstanding best service we've had in a hotel for a very long while, we needed a break to relax and unwind and Pestana Alvor Praia helped us acheive this and we will definately be going back next year.

Staff: ok, but waiters a bit arrogant, seems that cleaning service not speaking English, but not sure.

You will find steam room, sauna and small gym also located here, all areas very clean.

It's built on a number of different levels and split into hotel / timeshare apartments, the beach club apartments are just past the pool area and other apartments and the beach can be reached using the 3 lifts next to the outdoor pool.

The hotel is located right on the Três Irmãos beach, to reach this you take a lift from the pool area down to level 1, and walk down a short corridor to the beach.

My other complaint is that the wireless capability of the hotel wasn't free.

PC, but have at least one hotel PC that can be used for free.

The rooms are clean, spacious and modern and have great views, all have balconies.

Rooms were clean modern, all the bar staff in the Dom Henrique Bar were very friendly and free drinks before I mentioned was birthday.

Furthermore staff are very professional, the rooms are clean and breakfast is very good.

The room (242) was well located and very clean - fairly large with a good sized balcony complete with very comfortable sunbed and cane chairs and a lovely sea view.

Moreover the staff are very nice and well the rooms are reasonably clean.
