I really got my money's worth at Hospederia Las Calzadas. The room was clean and comfy, and I loved having a balcony with a great view. The location was perfect for my Camino walk, and the staff treated me with kindness and helpfulness throughout my stay.
The breakfast menu could use a little more variety.

Beautiful scenery around the hotel, lovely walking area. Hotel rather tired needing a bit of a spruce up but comfortable enough for a short stay. We didn't use any facilities so cannot comment.
As said stunning area, we were disappointed that it was a good walk from the seaside town. Also there was a lovely patio area which I would have liked to sit out on but the patio furniture was shabby and stacked up. I think that they miss an opportunity as it could make a wonderful sitting area.

The location was superb, with wonderful views from the hotel terrace. This is a good hotel for backpackers and people who are more interested in scenery, castles, old churches, beaches, mountains, wildlife and less interested in big breakfasts, luxury and comfort. The accommodation was basic and clean. Good shower & bathroom, but since we were all aged 70+ the stairs were a challenge, we would have liked more comfort i.e. the beds were narrow with hard wooden bedheads with no spare pillows. However, being in St Vicente de la Barquera, with its beautiful views of rivers, mountains and wildlife made up for the lack of home comforts.

Always returning for my romantic getaway. First visit, staff guided me around the town. Perfect place with Wi-Fi, parking, bar/lounge, and TV. No regrets.

Very simple but rooms comfortable and very clean. Bathroom more than adequate and spotless. We loved the peace and quiet and beautiful farmland hills. We knew we needed a car but it was 2 minutes from the centre of San Vicente. We will definitely stay again when in that area to take in the views and healthy surroundings, for an amazing price. Can't fault it for the price. Breakfast was very basic, coffee and croissant but for the price, could not ask for more. Very homely lounge with tv

The decor at this lovely hotel was simply delightful! The common areas were tastefully decorated with warm colors and beautiful artwork, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance. It made me feel right at home during my stay. Additionally, the hotel was easily accessible for senior people like myself. There were no steps or steep slopes to navigate, and the hallways and doorways were spacious enough to accommodate walkers or wheelchairs. It was truly a blessing for us senior travelers.
I would have loved to have a dedicated assistance service for senior vacationers. While the children working there were friendly and helpful, it would have been even better if there were staff members specifically trained to cater to the needs of older guests.

If you want an intimate hotel, off the beaten path, in a pastoral setting, with livestock surrounding your hotel, this is the place for you. We had stayed at this hotel several years back and were charmed by its quaint location. The cows, with bells, wake you in the morning, as they eat their way past your room. All rooms seem to have small balconies, so you have an elevated, safe view of the surrounding fields, and the magnificent vistas are breathtaking. But intimate is the word for the rooms.
Off the beaten path, and difficult to get to with hardly any signs to guide you, is something one should know about this hotel. It is a basic, functional, affordable place to stay. It has no dining facilities, ( except breakfast) so have supper before you arrive.

I had a wonderful stay at a hotel just outside of the city, surrounded by peaceful countryside. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The check-in and check-out process was quick and easy. Plus, the hotel was more affordable compared to others in the area. I highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Stayed at this excellent, family-run hotel during our Camino walk. The rooms are small but have charming balconies with stunning rural views. The staff was friendly and the owner even helped me make tea for breakfast. Good value with nice coffee and bread/pastry choices. Convenient location next to the Camino de Santiago. Beautiful walk into town, although it gets dark at night.

The decoration of the hotel was charming and had a cozy atmosphere that I greatly enjoyed. The general areas were well-maintained and provided a comfortable space to relax and socialize. As a senior woman, I found the hotel's accessibility to be excellent. The staff was always available at the front desk and willing to assist me whenever I needed help. It made my stay much easier and enjoyable.
I would have appreciated a bit more assistance from the children working there in terms of recommending local restaurants or providing information on nearby attractions that are suitable for senior people.

Convenient location for exploring Cantabria's Oyambre Natural Park, I enjoyed the bar with the terrace area. Free parking was a plus.
Oh, how lovely it was to have the pleasure of hearing the bustling noise of golfing and windsurfing nearby all day long. So relaxing.

Nice character with open living/reading rooms, helpful staff, big rooms and bathrooms. Close to a good local restaurant, parking available, and a short walk to the beach. Great value for money.

The value for money at Hospederia Las Calzadas was excellent, with a low price for a well-maintained room. The location was peaceful, surrounded by beautiful countryside, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Breakfast selection could be improved with a greater variety of options.

I keep coming back because the staff is helpful - they returned my forgotten sim cards. This place has Wi-Fi, paid parking, a bar/lounge area, and a flat-screen TV. Perfect for me. Can't wait to come back for Christmas!
