  When our travel agent offered us a deluxe room for? On arrival we did not want to accept the room but were told we could not move. The majority of the faults were related to the cleanliness of the room & could all have been easily rectified. Picking up on another review the towels had been white once but were now only fit to dry a wet dog.

  We did enjoy the breakfast and thought the room was nice and big and it was clean. The pool was fantastic, best part of the hotel. So as long as you dont eat or drink at the hotel and get a good cheap deal it is an ok hotel.

  The lobby, staircases etc were constructed in marble and were magnificent.

  However not one dollar has been spent on the hotel or rooms,since. Apart from the pool area the whole hotel is rundown. All of the room towels and linen were badly frayed and in poor repair. Even the dining room staff had badly frayed uniforms. The food in the restaurant for dinner was poor.

  The room was not as clean as it should have been, there were handprints on the mirrors and patio doors, dust in the corners of the room and lots of ants! Towels were completely grey although they were clean. For what we paid it was definatley not worth it and I have only given it 2 stars because the pool was nice and check in/out was efficient.

  The rooms were very tired (scratched floor, dirty walls), definately need a refurbishment. We ordered room service one night, it arrived promptly but was horrible, we didn't eat it (and we aren't that fussy). The noise didn't bother us in the room with the aircon on, but on the balcony it was quite noisy and seemed to go on from early morning til about 10pm.

  The hotel has a great location with just a short tuk tuk ride or walk from Ao Nang Beach Walk with connections to all the beautiful ,lush, islands beyond. The hotels has a great 3 story pool and waterfall that seamlessly connects to the lager structure of this grand hotel with top floor breakfast dining overlooking erected, green mountains, scattered randomly in the sea of Krabi. There are a few good restaurants right outside the hotel for the lazy days one might spend by the pool. The service at the hotels is good, with friendly and helpful staff and the smile is always present. The room are large, and of great standard in Asian perspective but not western.

  The pool bar has prices that don't belong anywhere in Thailand where a burger & fries will run you up to 500 bath. The management lent us a room to shower in prior to our late departure so we could wash the sand out of our hair before leaving. If the rooms and the hotel as a hole had a total makeover this would indeed be the 5 star they claim to be. The aircon in the room did not work properly and had just one mode and would turn the room frizzing cold during the night. The gym at the hotel was a joke, with smelly wall to wall and defect equipment.

  This is a vast hotel complex with large and spacious rooms, wonderful balconies and good service. After having our travel agent intervening, the hotel at last offered complimentary car rides to the Ao Nang gym a few kilometers away. The supply of bars and restaurants in the hotel is good, and so is the service, but no one use them other than for enjoying the breakfeast facilities.

  The location a bit up a small road is not the best, but it is always easy to take the walk or hail a tuk-tuk. We also had an extended argument over the gym, in which most machines were defect or not working at all.

  The breakfast was perfect. Always fresh and rich choices.

  The staff does not totally understand english. I think the hotel was very beautiful 10 years ago but now it has lost his shine. The pictures what we have seen before of the hotel are old pictures. They would need to update their homepage!

• Magnifique hôtel pour se reposer

  Ma famille (2 adultes et 2 enfants de 12 et 15ans) avons séjourné au Pavilion Queen's Bay du 20 août au 3 septembre 2007. L'hôtel est magnifiquement situé sur une colline et offre une vue superbe sur la mer d'Andaman. Le seul problème est la zone en construction qui se situe en contrebas de l'hôtel en direction de la mer mais bien évidemment ceci est indépendant de la gestion de cet hôtel. Les chambres sont très grandes (nous avions 2 chambres supérieures d'environ 60 m2 chacune) avec tout le comfort possible : Grand lit, Sofa individuel, Bureau, TV, Douche séparée, WC séparé, baignoire, peignoirs, pantoufles, nécessaire à café et à thé, minibar, ... Nous avions choisi l'option "All meals and drinks" qui est vite rentabilisée en fonction des tarifs pratiqués à l'hôtel. La nourriture est très variée et excellente (Cuisine de la Thaîlande du Nord et du Sud ainsi que cuisine Occidentale). Les psicines à niveaux sont très propres et offrent également une vue superbe sur la mer. Les serveurs et serveuses sont très gentils et ne savent pas quoi faire pour vous rendre service. La ville d'Ao Nang ainsi que toute la région a conservé son caractère authentique (beaucoup de végétation, d'animaux, ...) En un mot, tout le séjour s'est passé magnifiquement et nous y retournerons certainement dans 2 ou 3 ans.

  We had a standard double room which was very spacious and very clean, with an attached balcony. The location is perfect, pnly around 10 mins to Ao Nang beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful, largely a common disposition for Krabi people.

  We also tried the hotel spa which is reportedly one of the best in Krabi.
