    In a city where you can spend a lot of money on a bad hotel room, this hotel is a stunning value.

    After driving across the country and staying in sub par hotels for the same price as Park Place, I was amazed at what they offered for the price.

    I would stay here again and for the price of the hotel it is a steal.

    5 star hotel but it didn't cost but 100.

    Good location to restaurants (corky's) and some shopping but a little far from beale street and downtown.

    Despite its location there was no traffic noise in the room.

    Given the hotel location it was remarkably quiet.

    We will definitely return to the Park Place Hotel--right beside I-240 and at the foot of anything you'd need on Poplar Ave.

    There was a waffle station (do it yourself), boiled eggs, 4 types of cereals, mixed fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, muffins,etc.

    Room was great - the most comfortable bed with lots of pillows, huge TV and complimentary soda and water in the fridge.

    The rest of the room had all new linens, a huge tv, and a comfortable bed.

    I loved the details like nice toiletries from Bath and Body Works, refrigerators in every room, and wonderfully comfortable beds,sheets, and big, fluffy towels.

    The room was large with a king-sized bed.

    The room is well appointed and the bed sleeps, well.

    A few steps across the parking lot is a very nice restaurant and bar.

    The breakfast was nicely laid out, and the eating room was kept cleaned and stocked.

    There is a (apparently independantly owned) restaurant on site with really good food (non chain).

    Included in stay a continental breakfast which was nice and had a very pleasant "hostess.

    Don't let the continental breakfast fool you.

    There are usually cookies at the front desk in the evening and the staff has lists of food services that deliver.

    The service you receive from the hotel staff is very hospitable, because everyone ensures that you are welcomed.

    Front desk staff also very friendly and helpful.

    Reception staff and all staff were very friendly.

    Very comfortable beds, beautiful lobby, nice pool, good part of town, near Corky's and the Blue Plate, clean rooms, ample parking, easy drive down Poplar for just about everything.

    There is a fitness center, pool, complimentary delicious hot breakfast, and free internet access too.

    The hotel also has a pool and fitness center, although I did not use either of them.

    Where the Homewood Suites were dreary, dated, dirty, and institutionalized, Park Place was fresh, new, clean, modern, beautiful, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating at every turn.

    Nice clean room and hotel plus great service.

    Our room on the fourth floor was very nice, large and super clean.

    Otherwise -- this newly renovated hotel is really clean, and almost a bit quaint (250 rooms I think) in its unassuming nature/architecture.

    The hotel room was clean and good sized, especially for the two of us.

      Where the Homewood Suites were dreary, dated, dirty, and institutionalized, Park Place was fresh, new, clean, modern, beautiful, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating at every turn. There is absolutely no comparison between the two, even with the Homewood's suites being larger in square footage--they still couldn't compare to the Park Place's newly remodeled peace and beauty. I loved the details like nice toiletries from Bath and Body Works, refrigerators in every room, and wonderfully comfortable beds,sheets, and big, fluffy towels. The fitness room is stunning and free high speed internet in the rooms was greatly appreciated.

      We had stayed the previous night at the Homewood Suites on Poplar, right next door to the Park Place, and been really disappointed.

      You can pay more for being downtown (everything was sold out) but this hotel was comfortable and had a great continental breakfast (however try the Blue Plate Cafe, just up Poplar). Bottom line, the beds are very comfortable and rooms are quiet.

      We called ahead to request a room that did not have scented products in the room and was not cleaned with scented products. They said they would be able to accommodate our request. They did not clean the room so it was unscented. During the day I tried to sleep in the car in the parking lot of my husband's new job. With one exception, every hotel I asked either would accommodate my request or tell me they were unable to do so.

      We desperately tried to find another location.

    • The manager said he inspected the room and liked what he saw?

      The bathroom was dirty specifically the commode, the wall sockets in the bathroom was dirty, there were rust spots around the commode and the entire bathroom walls were filthy. What they call the continental breakfast was horrible also. We overheard another customer complaining about the continental breakfast, the fruit was soggy, the bagels were stale, and the waffle maker did not cook the waffles all the way through. The elevator compartment was hot and at one time only one compartment was running. We tried to book another room at another hotel but Memphis was crowded at that particular time so we diecided to pack up and leave.

      An excellent restaurant is right beside the hotel, River Oaks.

      We were able to call a cab and one arrived within 20 minutes. Didn't have any problems getting a cab from Beale St to come back.

      First, the check in at the front desk was quick and easy, and took about 5 minutes to complete. Second, upon entering the room, I was very pleased with the layout, decor and cleanliness. The room was large with a king-sized bed. TV with cable or satelite TV with many chanels, including a movie chanel. The bathroom was had plenty of soft, fluffy towels and fragrant soap and other toiletries. There was also plenty of hot water, with good water pressure. The minibar/refrigerator was stocked with one bottle of water, and a diet and regular coke, all complimentary.

      The hotel was clean and the staff was helpfull. It is a 10 minute ride by car to Beale street but parking is very easy to find in central Memphis.
