The hotel’s Turk’s Head restaurant is great and it has a bar that is always buzzing with interesting people. The décor is very much of the type you would expect in pre World War II Ireland; lovely rich wood floors, big comfortable sofas, and spectacular velvet drapes. The exterior of the hotel has an even older look but the aesthetic mix doesn’t really clash, rather it adds to the rich sense of welcome you get when staying in this stylish hotel.

For the price we paid for the three nights and having fruit for guests at reception was a nice touch.
The shower was fantastic and the breakfast was fine.
Additionally staff were really helpful and room was comfortable and clean.

Getting there

Dublin Airport is within 9.6km.

By airport bus the transfer will cost you EUR6. The 748 Airport Bus leaves from outside the Arrivals Hall (on the left hand side). This bus will stop at the Quays in Dublin City Center (Essex Quay). The driver will let you know which stop it is as it’s the main stop for Temple Bar. When you arrive at Temple Bar, turn back towards the junction just behind you (Capel Street Bridge & Parliament Street). Turn right onto Parliament Street (the Porterhouse Pub will be opposite you). Continue straight ahead until you see our bar TURKS HEAD. Turn right and walk along the Turks Head. The entrance to the hotel is on the left at the corner.

By taxi the transfer will cost between EUR 25 – 30.

By car take the M1 (signposted Dublin) to the city center. Continue forward onto the Swords Road N1 (signposted N1 City Center). At traffic signals continue forward onto Drumcondra Road Lower; continue forward to Dorset Street (signposted R804). Turn left off Dorset Street onto Church Street (signposted R108). At the end of Church Street go straight over the River Liffey (Gratten Bridge), follow the road to Christchurch Cathedral (on your left hand side) and continue straight onto Dame Street. At the Arlington Hotel (Temple Bar) take the left hand turn onto Exchange Street. Paramount Hotel is located at the end of this street on the right hand side.
