We had a car with us so were limited by our choice of hotels but this is a fantastic location, a very short walk into the centre of a beautiful city but with lovely countryside views from the back. The garden is such a plus and it was lovely to have a drink here from their very reasonably priced bar in the evening. Breakfast was very nice and again, wonderful to enjoy it in the garden. The building itself has lots of character and is a nice place to stay in. I am sure that if we had been given a nice room we would have had a lovely stay here but unfortunately our room was the worst we have ever stayed in which meant we were very happy to leave.

We had paid extra for a superior double room as it was our honeymoon (which I had informed the hotel of). Please be aware that the superior doubles mainly have a front view which is of the building across the road. It is the cheaper rooms that have a beautiful countryside view. The bathroom was dated and although clean on the surface all the grouting had gone black so it felt quite dirty. The shower was a very powerful very thin spurt of water that is very uncomfortable. It was a mixer shower at the wrong end of the bath from the shower screen so even angling the shower at a really awkward angle and ducking to be in the shower stream got water all over the floor. The shower screen was about to fall apart and to stay in place needed a bin balanced on a stool so it didn't swing open. The plug mechanism wasn't working so we couldn't fill the sink up. Our bedroom was right next to a very heavy door which slammed so hard it shook the wall our bed rested against and woke us up numerous times in the night. This felt like an extremely budget hotel and we were very unhappy to have to pay luxury hotel prices. We only stayed here for 2 nights and the problems mounted up over our stay so we only complained upon check out. The receptionist said we should have said earlier and she would have moved us. We did not understand this - why had we been put in such a bad room if there was a better room available? We were extremely disappointed in our stay and would recommend if you stay here that you insist on having one of their good rooms as from the other reviews there must be some.

Great location, Larger than normal room, and excellent staff. Recommended by friends, highly rated on various web sites, this hotel certainly met our expectations.

They need a more detailed set of directions to the hotel on Booked.net and on their web site. I even emailed the hotel for driving instructions which they provided but still lacked sufficient detail. Fortunately, I found blog that included one persons very detailed instructions that made getting to the hotel simple.

This renovated "Palace" is not only a historic landmark, but it is beautiful and quite elegant. It's just on the outskirts of the main attractions. If you are lucky enough to get a room overlooking the gardens, you'll get the most amazing view of the Tuscan Hills and that in itself is worth the cost. Of the upmost consideration is the kindness and professionalism of ALL of the staff. Everyone was friendly, accommodating and had an excellent command of English so we had no issues whatsoever in getting help to make restaurant recommendations and reservations, all the way to tips on when to catch the train. I would HIGHLY recommend this as an excellent choice to be a little outside of the main attractions but most definitely everything was walkable.

Nothing of note. Always just remember you're not in the USA so please do not have the same types of expectations. This place is FULL of history and beauty.

Location to the city centre was convenient. The back yard garden had a fabulous view, and was a great place to have a glass of wine and view the sunset over the Tuscan country side. Unique historical building with a long family history. Breakfast was good, and nice to have in the garden. Had free wi-fi which was great. Room was a decent size, air conditioned and great view on the garden side. Staff was friendly and helpful - spoke good English. Bonus - could get a "real" north american coffee!

        Very firm bed,

Palazzo Ravizza has a lovely old world feel. Sitting in the garden in the early evening With a glass of wine looking out at the Tuscan hills is a good as it gets.

I liked the location, quite near the city centre.

The hotel needs some restoration. Breakfast could be better.

The view. The location. The night staff. Did I mention the view? The wine selections in the lobby are phenomenal. Can't wait to return!

Notice of city entries to avoid or at least more severe warnings about driving at your own risk through any other city gate than Marco.

From the tiles floors to the wood beamed ceilings and with every antique in between, the Palazzo Ravizza is magnificent. Each charming and unique room is like taking a step back in time without sacrificing modern conveniences. There is a room with a piano, books in a sitting room and water and wine available all day. Really, what more could one ask for? Our room over looked the garden and there simply are no adequate words for the view. The garden is heavenly. We ate breakfast there each morning and had drinks there each evening. The staff was wonderful; charming and accommodating. And if that weren't enough, there is parking lot on premises and off the streets. We traveled through Italy for two weeks and I can honestly say I would have been equally as content if we stayed in Siena at the Palazzo Ravizza the entire time.

We stayed 1 night at hotel's loft room, very basic but clean. We had a window, hence we had some sort of view. Hotel was quite a walk from bus statiom (partly Co's we lost our way and stopped to look at shops), but with directions from hotel staff, it should just take about 25mins and it's about 15mins from Campo. The view from garden is the main pull factor for hotel, it's also where breakfast is served. View is spectacular - both day and night.

Not so near the bus station, can be quite a challenge to reach by foot if you have big pieces of luggage. Hotel had recommended taxi though.

Our stay at Palazzo Ravizza was one of the best parts of our holiday. The location is fantastic and the decor of the room is amazing. To have the courtyard with a magnificent Tuscan view was just fantastic & the breakfasts in the courtyard were superb.

Very charming hotel, within minutes walking to all of Siena. Loved the garden, with the spectacular view of the Tuscan countryside!

Hotel should provide guests with a better guide to parking, including which city gate to drive thru for dropping off luggage. Once we figured this out we loved how accessible the parking was to the hotel.
