A large hotel, great building and reasonable price.
All in all, will definitely be back to Como, but definitely not to the Palace - a 3 star hotel, charging 4 star prices with 2 star service.
The trip only takes an hour and costs less than the 95 euro cab fare quoted to us by the hotel.
Perfect location as was very conveniently located to the ferry services, the restaurant at the hotel was quite good and found the staff very helpful.
The location is perfect - very close to the boat docks and the center of town, and virtually next door to the regional LeNord train station (but we never heard any noise from it).

The railway station for the Milan train is just round the corner from the hotel and a short bus ride away is another station from which you can get to Switzerland for an easy day trip.
We had a lovely room overlooking the lake (Superior room) with a large bed (queen or king - be sure to request this so you don't get twin beds).
The bedroom and bathroom were a good size but the bed wan't very comfortable.

Our room had no flair - it was very utilitarian with quite horrible artwork above the bed, the dining room had little atmosphere, the breakfast buffet was fine but the coffee revolting and the gentleman on reception was quite offhand on arrival.
Comfortable and has a nice bar, lovely bathrobes, the complimentary breakfast was well stocked.
The Hotel is surrounded by brilliant restaurants and cafe's so don't stress if you forget breakfast and admire the view for a tad too long, there's always somewhere to enjoy a pastry and a good cafe latte nearby.
One evening we ate at the hotel restaurant but there were many other nice places to eat.

Additionally bathroom were both large, soaps provided were very nice and the breakfast was fine: all the typical buffet food + salmon + plate of different kinds of cheese + good selection of fruits.

This is an older property and the room wasn't fancy, but it was clean and quiet.
Rooms are large, clean, and well furnished.
