  It is right on the beach, the hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Above all, the rooms were CLEAN.

  The rooms were nice and big with a nice kitchen area and great balconys. Very helpful staff and I love the free slippers we got. Great Hotel, Views, Staff, Rooms, Everything.

  We actually reserved a Garden View room but we were upgraded to a Partial Ocean View Jr Suite. This room was beautiful and the view was spectacular. We really enjoyed the Plasma TV because they are rarely found in hotels. The room and bathroom were huge and very clean. The staff people were very respectful and polite.

  My girlfriend and I stayed at the Pacific Terrace last weekend and we loved every minute of it! From the smiling and courteous staff to the beautifully clean rooms to the poolside patio and fabulous breakfast & wine, it was everything we could ask for in a weekend getaway preceeding a business trip! At first, I was a little nervous to hear we were getting a first floor room near the pool. We were only steps away from the hot tub area and an exit door directly to the boardwalk yet tucked away behind beautiful foliage. Now, I would request this- who wants to sit on a balcony where everyone can see you from the pool area? Although early check in isn't guaranteed, I had hoped a hotel of this nature for $400/night would have made an extra effort to allow us into our room a little early.

  However, by 3:30pm our room was still not ready (check in is at 4pm).

  Stayed 4 nights in may 2007, There is a reason it's rated #1 ,the staff, it's clean, well kept, and a feeling of being taken care of, contribute to a great stay.

  From the moment we stepped into the foyer, there were nothing but smiles and helpful staff. We were upgraded to a beautiful room on the 3rd floor, great breakfast, gorgeous views of the morning sunrise, surfers, and dolphins frolicking. The pool was very clean and large enough for everyone to enjoy, especially with the complimentary wine service! How can you put a price on someone bringing you free wine while you watch the kids play in the pool , it's fun to watch all people walking by on the boardwalk. We rented a car, went to SeaWorld and the Zoo, spent the rest of the days by the pool & the beach.

  2 nights because I wanted to have a room right on the beach to actually hear ocean waves crashing against the shoreline (you won't get this on any of the bays, artificial beaches or marinas in the area). What a culture shock leaving lovely, serene and secluded Coronado to drive through this overcrowded, busy, dumpy neighborhood lined filled with low rent apartments and 1 star motels. THE ROOM: we got a premium ocean view suite on the 2nd floor.

  The only other decent hotels I noticed in the immediate area were Tower 23 and the Crystal Pier cottages which despite my dislike for the location I may try out someday just because they are so unique. My first morning of enjoying the ocean waves was interrupted too early in the morning by loud children playing near the pool area or one of the nearby balconies. We drove to the place, could not find parking space anywhere within a few blocks so we drove up to the valet booth where we got ignored.

  The service at the hotel was outstanding and we loved our beautiful room. The moment we walked in, we felt as if we were in Hawaii as there were many Palms outside our window with a beautiful ocean view. The pool is in the center of the hotel, along the main boardwalk, but it is fully enclosed with glass fence and has a gate that can only be accessed with a room key. It has many casual restaurants and bars, but it would be nice to have some upscale shops and restaurants as well.

  We loved everything about this small boutique hotel, except the location.

  The Pacific Terrace Hotel is a great hotel with a wonderful staff! This hotel had very nice accommodations and amenities and is close to everything (La Jolla, San Diego etc). We traveled with our small children and the location actually worked out nice because we could get to everything quickly, yet we weren't in the middle of the city. We originally booked a partial ocean room and were upgraded to a family suite upon arrival, which was a great blessing as our 2 young children could go to bed at a normal hour and my husband and I could watch TV in the living area. Breakfast was wonderful and was included in the price. In addition, they served wine at the pool from 4-5 and the staff would walk around the pool offering cold drinks for the patrons. The pool area was on the small side but very clean and the water was nice and warm.

  The Pacific Terrace Hotel is located on the beach in the heart of the San Diego surfer community, surrounded by a bevy of bars, burger joints and beach-wear bargains. The hotel sits atop a 50-foot cliff with nothing between it and the ocean but a boardwalk, a few palm trees and about 100 feet of sand. Everyone we encountered at the Pacific Beach Hotel was extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure we were having a pleasant stay. It was nice to recognize the faces at the front desk and have them do the same with you. Additional nice touches: refridgerator in every room and games such as chess and Yahtzee!
