Orla Copacabana Hotel Rio de Janeiro - 里约热内卢

The Orla's beachfront location, the price, and easy proximity to Ipanema, Arpoador beaches and Copacabana just outside are hard to find elsewhere.

The location is excellent and very close to everything.

For instance, one staff member made a big fuss when we asked her to call a museum to find out what the operating hours were; another staff member was very unhelpful when we asked for directions to a nearby currency exchange location.

Set price taxi from the airport was R72 and R45 on the meter on the way back.

Only take the taxi that the hotel arranges for you if you are going to the airport during rush hour.

Ours was an average size room with a queen bed, very nice bath/shower, minimalistic decor with a view of another building.

The room had a nice spacious bath, very comfortable beds, nice design and furniture, but no closet or storage space, other than under the beds or in dressers.

My room and rooms being clean as I passed were all small in size - which may be disappointing to people used to American sized rooms which are the size of apartments.

My room and was air conditioned, very clean and spacious including the bathroom with a walk in shower.

I did notice a stain on the bed comforter.

The first floor has lounge, bar, reception and restaurant in a narrow area.

AVOID: eating in the hotel restaurant when it is not breakfast.

The ground level restaurant was intimate, with good breakfast buffets of various meats, cheeses, breads, an abundance of fruits and vegetables - some of which are uncommon in North America.

Downstairs the breakfast was a fine spread, with a wide variety of choices between hot and cold breakfasts and several attentive waiters on hand to assist.

The reception staff were very helpful and efficient and also the Restaurant was a bit too small at peak times, the quality of the breakfast was very good and a good selection of items.

Biggest plus were the staff - especially on reception.

The pool affords an amazing view, great service from staff and good breakfast.

The reception staff were so so, the staff in the kitchen for breakfasts were excellent and really friendly.

There is a small pool on the rooftop, the size of a large Jacuzzi, a sunbathing deck on two levels, and a small sauna for 2-3 people.

A very nice (and very small) rooftop pool, sauna, sun terrace and exercise room give good views over the beach and to the mountains.

We would definitely recommend this hotel and probably stay there again, although it would be nice to have a better swimming pool and gym facility.

Wi-fi is available on the first floor and there are two computers in the business center for a small fee.

Good shower, clean and fairly modern room facilties.

The rooms may be a bit on the small side by north american standards, but they are impecabbly clean, quite comfortable and very modern.

The room was clean and made up nicely every day.

Always a clean room, no surly staff, or thefts, or other negative events.
