Online description stated the hotel staff spoke english - they did not. Italian only. Description stated they had wifi. Not. The double bed was two singles pushed together. Staff was nice... but we had a 10pm 'curfew' as the hotel was locked after.

This was a lovely place to stay. The lady running the hotel was so friendly, the rooms were bright, clean and comfortable, and the breakfast (included in room rate) was good. Another plus was the fantastic restaurant and pizzeria located right next door to the hotel. The food was fantastic and so reasonably priced.
For us, there were no negatives! But please note there are quite a few steps up to the hotel (we had overnight bags so this wasn't a problem) so for older travellers/those with big cases it may be tricky (though I'm sure the staff could help out). Also, the shower has no screen, so water does splash around the bathroom a bit - it's nothing a towel on the floor afterwards won't fix but again, for older travellers (or those with kids) a slippery bathroom floor may be an issue.

The front desk lady was very helpful and friendly. There was a restaurant below the hotel that was good. Free parking with a nice view of the volcano Vesuvius. The location of the hotel is good for people who like hiking, cycling and wildlife.
The air conditioned did not work, and we had to sleep with the windows opened; therefore, my son got bitten by the mosquitos at night.

We stayed in Hotel Ontani for 4 nights – as a base for exploring Amalfi coast. Two ladies who are running this hotel are very kind and welcoming, unfortunately they don’t speak any of English, but their kindness helps to overcome language barrier. For the ones willing to explore Amalfi coast Hotel Ontani can be a good choice, it is less than 10 km from Maiori . Have in mind that roads on Amalfi coast are difficult – narrow and curvy, so be prepare for the same finding Hotel Ontani – but it was worth of the effort.

I really was treated like royalty or family by the team here. As well as looking after me during my stay they helped to find my way and save me money on my onward travels. This is an excellent budget base for exploring the amalfi coast.
Taxis in the area are very expensive and there are no accessible public transport there is an excellent hotel shuttle bus but if you plan on having really late nights out like I did then make sure you hire a car.

The most beautiful view of Vesuvius from the balcony.

The view from out widow was amazing. The hotel was built into the rock on the hillside. In the cafe at the bottom of the 50 or so steps to the hotel lobby had natural rock as the wall in the dining area. The cost was reasonable for the area. It was 15-20 minutes from Nocera or any town of any size.
The bed was very hard. The shower was in the corner of the bathroom over the toilet so you could do both sit on the toilet and shower at the same time. Breakfast was a roll and cup of coffee. The staff does not understand English and they needed cash to pay the bill fortunately we had the cash the nearest bank would have been 45 to 60 minutes round trip.
