The location of the hotel is perfect for Upper West Side and ideally located for all attractions either side of Central Park and gives you a good excuse to walk through it.

Located in a great location in the Upper West Side- within walking distance of some good shops and restaurants.

The location of the hotel is great too, I would move to that neighborhood without a second thought.

We used a taxi from the airport when we arrived, but when we were checking out the hotel offered us their town car for pretty much the same price as a taxi.

Also, bell staff tried to hustle me into a town care on my departure by lying to me about what a taxi would cost to the airport and claiming there would be very little difference from the town car.

The rooms are small but VERY clean and comfortable - queen-sized bed, flat- screen TV, ample counter space in the bathroom.

The drawbacks are relatively minor, but keep this hotel from being ranked the highest (based on "standard" room with queen bed): Rooms are quite small, with very little carpet area to walk around the bed.

We paid 50% more for a very similiar room - only difference was a bathtub and King size bed, but only one chair and no ottoman in the room.

The room and bathroom were both of a decent size and the bed extremely comfortable.

When we returned home I immediately pulled up the hotel's website to see how we had made this mistake and sure enough under 'rooms' the picture of the 'panoramic deluxe' room shows a sofa, bed, etc.

As it comes to other amenities, I don't need to have a hotel restaurant or breakfast (eat out in town anyway) nor do I need a bar in the hotel.

There is no bar or restaurant in the hotel--there are plenty of options (for restaurants, anyway) in the immediate area.

There is not restaurant or bar at the hotel BUT, across the street is a wonderful little diner (Broadway diner) that offers MORE food than one person could think of eating.

There are great restaurants close by (Ruby Foos or Zabar's for breakfast) and the city is full with great places to eat or have a drink.

Even if the hotel does not offer breakfast you can grab some eggs and a toast at a lot of little restaurants close-by.

I was less happy with the front desk staff/concierge.

The staff at the front desk should take a leaf out of the porter's and concierge's book in relation to manners.

Really nice hotel employees, complimentary wireless internet in the lobby and friendly and helpful housekeeping staff.

There are lots of restaurants and shops right outside the lobby and parking next door, across the street and around the block.

There is no restaurant, and the two public areas are the small modern lobby and a small roof terrace (not looking over Central Park, as is the impression given on the website!

According to a card in the room, I was supposed to have the option of wireless or wired internet access.

The flat screen TV and wireless internet were nice touches.

It would've been even nicer had I had not been traveling alone that trip :-) My rooms have always been very clean, very big fluffy pillows and crisp fresh cotton covers on the comforters.

The rooms are large by NYC standards and clean.

I found the room clean and comfortable, very nice to come home to after a long day of exploring NYC.

Furthermore welcoming and friendly staff, spacious room, lots of good restaurants in this clean.

The room was very clean and the little chocolates on the pillows each night was a nice touch.
