  I spent a few days at the Omni last year in room 604. The concierge was quite irritable and the hotel could not seem to handle the large number of guests on this weekend (Steelers were here. Back at that time, the rooms were disgraceful. The beds themselves were extremely FIRM, not plush or pillow top, which made my back ache. Also, if management is reading this review, have you redid ALL of the rooms or just some of the rooms?

  The hotel lobby and corridors were beautiful and the hotel staff were freindly and has us checked in quickly. Our room was on the smaller side but thats expected when you stay at one of these historic hotels. The bathroom could of used a little updating but was still very elegant. Our only complaint would have been the bed was only a queen size and we are used to a king. The room was very quiet and the housekeeping staff kept it clean. We enjoyed the Tap room on saturday night as it was busy and the kitchen was open late. My wife and I would like to thank the hotel staff and the wonderful people of pittsburgh for welcoming us to your beautiful city.

  The water pressure was full blast knock you of f your feet and hot.

  It was a corner room on the 16th floor that had two spectacular views of the city. But our king size bed turnd out to be a queen becuase they couldnt fit a King size bed into this very narrow and cramped room.

  My husband had a business trip to Pittsburgh on July 9, 2007 and we booked a single room at the William Penn for our stay. It is a lovely hotel with a beautiful lobby. The staff was very friendly and efficient at checking us in quickly. We were assigned to a single queen bed room. For the expense of the room we expected it to be larger. The desk chair barely had room to be pulled out without it bumping up against the bed.

  It was surprisingly small and looked crowded with the bed taking up most of the space.

  The concierge was very warm and welcoming, and upgraded our room when we mentioned in the course of conversation that we had just gotten married the day before. We were relaxing and settling into our beautiful room when we got a knock at the door from room service. We booked through Hotwire, and I won't tell you how cheap it was, but I will tell you this -- we looked up the price of the champagne and the desserts in the room service guide, and we got our money back on that one ammenity. The room was clean, spacious, well-decorated, and comfortable. The bed was more comfortable than the one we sleep in at home.

  The main drawback is the unreliable room/bathroom size. This time, I was placed in a perfectly nice room on the larger side with an adequately-sized bathroom. On other stays, however, I have been placed in dinky rooms that obviously were intended for the "help" that used to travel with wealthy families back in the day. Bedding and toiletries are everything you would expect of a 4-star hotel. No charge for wifi internet access if you are an Omni Select Guest member. One gripe -- room service service was 25 minutes late, and cold when it finally arrived.

  Food is decent, if pricey for what it is. Complained at check-out, no offer to comp or even discount the meal, just a too bad, how sad brush-off.

  Well, for the price of the room that we paid for to stay overnight for a romantic evening soon after our destination wedding, I would have expected an amazing bathroom in return! That was a bit disgusting, because at that point we were not sure whether the bathroom was even clean.

  It was this tiny, not very updated bathroom, and horrible lighting! Also, when we arrived at the hotel the towels in our bathroom were used and on the floor. At this moment we are looking for another romantic evening for our 1 year wedding anniversary, and the Omni is not on our list for possible hotels, all thanks to the horrible bathroom.

  Our king room was very nice, clean and spacious. You get your choice of newspaper and and pot of coffee, tea or juice brought to your room in morning, You also get turned down service at night with chocolates on your pillow. There is a starbucks coffee shop in the lobby and the location of this hotel is very good. Valet parking is 24 dollars or you can self park for 14 dollars down the street.

  Our room was spotless; there were 3 of us staying in the room so I ordered a cot and the cot even was extraordinarily comfortable. The front desk went out of their way to be helpful to me with anything I needed, and every night there were chocolates waiting for us - a nice addition after a long day. Many other hotels have implemented a policy of not changing the sheets and not offering new towels unless you ask for them. I think that this is a good step forward in these times - we don't need to use a new towel or have fresh sheets every night.

  Additionally, when I returned in the evening the lights were on in my room and the TV was as well; it is part of the turndown service but in this day & age it seems wasteful.
