Definately not a 4-Star hotel any longer, way overpriced at $249 from Booked.net/Booked.net/Hotels for a standard king room, but paid $80 by naming my own price on Booked.net.
However, I do think the plumbing problem and very thin walls was a disappointment feature of the hotel, particular at this price.
I travel a lot and stay in nice hotels all over the world, and this one seems sub par for the price and rating.
Although we are Omni Select Guest Members, we booked our stay through Booked.net this time and our price bid went through, so we were able to get the hotel for $105 a night, a big savings (especially for downtown Austin).
It was a good location for going out on 6th as well as using the free Dillo trolley.
I have to say it is a great location within walking distance of 6th Street with dozens of restaurants and nightlife.
Stayed here on business travel, really like the location, really hated that I couldn't sleep.
You have to park underground during your stay so make sure you ask to have it validated every time you leave the property.
5 miles from Congress street i'd recommend a cab or driving.
I had a regular king-size room; the bed was nice and the bathroom was a good size.
We got a room with 2 double beds and to be honest, I thought the bed was a little on the small size for my hubby and I.
The Omni was unbelievably expensive ($240) for small room w/ two double beds for the out-of-date furniture and bad quality of the rooms.
It had a living area, small kitchen w/ coffee maker (sink only, no other appliances), king bed, bathroom, and large floor to ceiling windows.
Good bed, well decorated room, pleasant stay.
I had Sunday brunch at the hotel restaurant; it was a bit pricey for breakfast, but the service was great and the food was delicious.
Great food in the lobby, nice restaurants and bar area.
Since I decided to wait for a particular room, I received a free ticket for drinks and food up to 20 dollars and I enjoyed the wide open space at the bar-restaurant while waiting for my room.
The Omni is a fine property with a great lobby bar, lobby restaurant, and super nice rooms.
We were given a voucher for breakfast for two at the hotel restaurant and were told that a complimentary bottle of champagne and strawberries would be sent to our room.
I have to say that this hotel had consistently excellent service--from the doormen, the managers, the concierge and the front desk.
From the front desk, to guest services, room service and the woman who cleaned my room.
Only two of the four elevators go to the executive floors, so often I would have to go down to the lobby and then catch the right elevator up.
I was on the 4th floor and tried to get up to the gym and pool on the roof and the elevators simply did not arrive.
We resorted, and I suggest, that you find the service elevators which are located just off the lobby and can be accessed easily from the second floor balcony.

The rooms, though clean, are old and dated.
Room was very clean, I let my 7 month old crawl on the floor.
It was clear that our room had not been updated in 20+ years.
Hotel was clean, room decor seriously in need of a makeover.
The room was clean and quiet, and the hotel is within easy walking distance to 6th street.

I went to this hotel over cinco de mayo, for the amount paid it would have been nice if the staff was more friendly and helpful. 00 extra for smoking in the room when we actually had not even smoked in the room. They dont allow you to bring extra guests who are not checked in to your room after 10pm its like living at home and having your parents say its too late to have someone over, except you pay like 400 a night and cant have guests crazy!

$70 a night and for the price it was a nice hotel. The concierge service is very good and can give you a lot of tips on things to do around town.

Its a good location, and the staff were nice (most, other than the security guards who seemed to act like police officers), but I wouldnt call the Omni a "luxury" hotel. My room was moderatly sized and had a large window that overlooked the lobby/interior of the hotel. The hotel was relatively clean, but there was trash left at the elevator area that sat there all day. I guess I would somewhat recommend this hotel,, but not unless you got a really good price/deal.

Completely enjoyed my stay at the Omni, the staff were excellent, always very prompt and helpful. The roof top pool is a great place to relax, and the hotel is still very convenient to all the local downtown attractions. The room was a very good size (king bed) and reasonably quiet.

Robes in the room was a nice touch. But avoid the McCormick & Schmick's--it looks nice but the food there is budget.
