These are only minor niggles - all in all we thought this was great value for money in a great hotel with the exception of breakfast.
Having read the reviews on this website we chose this hotel for its absolutely superb location, modern stylish decor & reasonable price.
Nearly turned around and walked out of the Olivia Plaza before asking the price because we assumed it was an incredibly expensive 5 star hotel.
It was more expensive than other hotels I looked at but I was willing to pay the extra money since I loved the design.
Olivia Plaza is located right in the middle of the city, so without saying - the location is excellent.
Best of all, the hotel is located at the top of Las Ramblas, making it a great location.
The location is PERFECT for anyone who likes to be close to cafes, shops, stores, las ramblas, cabs, double decker tour buses.
We had read previous reviews and decided on the A1 shuttle bus from the airport instead of a taxi, perfect.
The location on Catalunya Square is perfect for touring the city ( Bus Touristic, Metro Lines and Airport Bus all at this location).

We didn't eat in the restaurant but the terrace bar is beautiful and funky.
The terrace bar is the perfect oasis at the end of the day, the breakfast is great.
If the breakfast is not included, we preferred to go to tapas restaurants which have cheap specials every morning.
Good restaurants down at the marina area (La Gavina) and try the floating bar/tapas pre-dinner jaunt.
No concierge if you are looking for this type of service, but the front desk staff was very helpful throughout our stay.
Reception staff are friendly and could be awkward sharing room.
So in summary: SUPERB LOCATION, SUPERB DECOR, SUPERB STAFF & SERVICE and really MADE our holiday complete.

Our room had windows that looked into the atrium of the hotel which means zero privacy as anyone from the lift lobby can see us.
The only complain I have is the lack of any sports facilities (gym, pool etc) in the hotel, unlike many of its 4-star hotels competitors.
Due to a maintenance problem we were upgraded to room 906 (penthouse- own terrace, jacuzzi and complimentary champers) We were delighted.
