Olims Hotel Canberra An All Seasons Hotel Braddon

We picked this hotel because of its location - close to the CBD (Civic) and where our friends live in Canberra.

Close to the War Memorial and set in a lovely suburban location.

Although the staff were excellent and the location was fabulous the room was a little bit of a letdown.

I picked the Hotel Canberra based on its close location to a meeting venue and its price.

The rooms here are very good each one I have stayed in has been a double story with bedroom and bathroom upstairs and spacious sitting room and kitchenette down stairs.

But worse was to come as it became evening the temperature plummeted and the small electric heater was not enough to heat the bedroom and the other separate room and bathroom which were freezing.

Stayed here with work, the room was comfy with a big warm bed.

With one queen sized bed and two single beds for a single occupancy.

They upgraded me to a room that has a living room/kitchen on the main floor and a bedroom and bathroom in a loft.

The restaurant was ok: breakfast average, Thai food at night - passable quality.

Free Wi-Fi in the restaurant free internet in rooms for laptops, breakfast buffet was reasonable for the cost.

In close walking distance to Civic and it had a good bar and restaurant.

We had one meal in the hotels Thai restaurant which was ok but service was a little slow.

Do not go to the restaurant, besides the food being horrible, there was a cockroach on the tablecloth at the table we were sitting at (and noticed them in hotel corriders as well).

Venue was very good and the service from the reception staff was friendly and efficient.

The hotel looks nice from the outside including the gardens and the service from the reception staff was friendly and efficient.

We had FANTASTIC service from the staff on the front desk and the hotel location was great.

However, everything worked, the room was clean and the service from the reception staff was friendly and efficient.

One young man in particular went out of his way to help us, giving us great directions, recommendations and a lift over to parliament after his shift finished.

Thanks to the recommendations and lift, we were also able to fit in a quick trip to parliament and floriade.

This motel had a nice atmosphere with an old worldy garden in the middle.

Furthermore rooms are clean, the breakfast array the next morning appeared pleasant enough.

Bathrooms were clean and the food I sampled was as good as I’ve had anywhere in Canberra.

The room was clean and restaurant staff were efficient.

The bathroom had mould on the ceiling and could have been done with a good clean and an update.

The hotels website may possibly give thier rooms a maybe "nicer than in person perspective" but they are very spacious and clean and even though photos may change the appaerance a little, who's not to expect that from a hotels own website?
