The location however was ideal as it is in a quiet part of town between Marbella and Puerto Banus.

The hotel location is in the middle of 'no mans land' between Marbella and Puerto Banus.

We got a cab from the Airport it was 65 Euros took about an hour, but on the way back we were advised a bus/coach was a much cheaper option.

So we got a cab from the hotel to the bus staion which is about 8 euros and then the coach takes you direct to the airport for 3 euros each - Bargain!

The rooms were really nice, the bathrooms a little of a letdown - over-the-bath shower and a wall mounted hairdryer which didn't really do the trick!

The apartments were in a great location, the 2 bed appartment we had was huge and the breakfasts were excellent.

The double bed was two beds pushed together.

The bed covers were very old, there was no lights on the balgony, not even a bathroom brush.

Bathroom nice, twin bowls, bath robes, bidet, shower over bath, etc.

The restaurant is underground so therefore no views and the choice at breakfast and evening meals did not reflect 4 stars!

The beach bar restaurant was five star+ & had five star+ staff to match.

Slow service in bar/restaurant area, but everybody very smiley and helpful.

The restaurant and bar in front of the pool lacks atmosphere and style – at night a musician plays so-so music, no wonder it’s mostly empty.

The restaurant and bar staff are friendly and efficient, and the chambermaids are really conscientious and thoughtful.

I wouldn't stay here again as the attitude of the reception manager was unecessarily argumentative over the mini bar issue and as a result I feel customer service wasn't up to the standard expected of a 4 star hotel.

Maid service is twice daily and the staff work hard but discreetly to make your stay enjoyable.

Throughout the hotel the service was very good, particularly at Reception.

Location was a nice walk to Puerto Banus - not in the heart of the town, esmeralda hotel was fantastic and the reception staff were excellent.

Pool nice size, but very cold - not heated.

Easy access to downtown Marbella and the huge pool is always very warm.

The only negative point is the swimming pool - which would be much more enjoyable if it was heated.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and well sound insulated.

It was a lovely place with clean airy rooms which seemed to be cleaned each time we went out!
