  We did have a problem getting the right hotel room but this was because of our own doings ( had a little much to drink and put our stuff in the wrong room). The only thing i do have something to say was about our check out when we were told that because we werent leaving untill 5 pm for our flight we had to check out of our room and leave our stuff in a locked room near the front desk whcih wasnt a huge problem. But when we went for the room it wasnt available and had to wait a half hour, but atleast we were still able to make our bus.

  After a lot of confusion we were finally given a room, but it did seem like an inconvenience to them. We were given a room in the garden area, 1st floor with a terrace facing the large pool. The room was out dated, but it was clean and we had no real problems except near the end of the week the door to the minibar fell off. We left a dollar and some other small items or treats on the bed in the morning and always came back to fresh flowers on the nicely made beds (I suggest a trip to the dollar store before you leave).

  For 4 days we had to call reception for the time after we came back from the beach. Probably the biggest piece of advice I can give is, the day before you leave go to reception and ask to settle your bill (phone calls, minibar etc. We spent in total about 2-3 hours dealing with guest services and managers, after explaining ourselves a million times they finally removed the charges. You get a towel card upon check-in, which we gave to a guy by the pool in exchange for a towel, at any time you can give him a wet towel and he will give you a dry one.

  The staff is courteous and some are awesome, but it helps if someone speaks English, they kinda ignore you at the bar if you don't. The beach is beautiful, the clearest water ever. The buffet by the garden pool is much better for lunch then by the beach, but the beach has really good pizza. Go for fun in the sun, good food, plentiful drinks, laughs and time with loved ones, and new friends.

  The maid service was a bit unorganized and inconsistent, one day I had to sneak into an empty room to steal 2 bottles of water as there were none left in my room! The rooms are a little dark, but you are in the carribean, you are NEVER in your room, and if you are, then go to a 5 star resort.

  Our room had a balcony that faced the ocean! Dominican restaurant was not good at all.

  This property is impeccable with great location and fantastic beach and snorkeling! This was some of the clearest blue water and best snorkeling I've done - nice shallow warm water protected by a natural reef. The grounds are immaculate and service was fantastic unlike some of the reviews we read.

  We had an upgrade of a Carribbean sea view room and it did smell very musty, but that is to be somewhat expected in such a hot humid climate in a beachfront room (it was also probably closed up for quite a while). We asked for new sheets and linens on the first day by writing a note to the maid in our broken Spanglish - and much to our surprise we had all new linens when we returned and the musty ones were gone!

  We had an awesome time the resort staff was amazing. The guys at the bar introduced me to Mamahuana great stuff a must fellas! The food wasn't good it was kinda blah, enough to get by. Food everywhere in DR isn't that pleasant. Its in the middle of things, and much better then other rooms, elsewhere.

  Maid service was fine if you needed something you called and it was there within 10 mins usually. No problem with any staff all spoke english for us and had no problem with it. Buffet good food and alot of differnet choices. Italian Restaurant fast friendly service, Mexican Restaurant Great Food and service. Dominican Restaurant same as the others good food and no complaints. WONDERFUL clean and plenty of room for all.

  This room was clean, and everything worked properly. As long as the bed is comfortable with clean sheets and the bathroom is clean and has fresh towels what is the problem? The main building is oceanfront and houses the Italian & Dominican restaurants, Mango's (buffet), which provides more than a continental breakfast and fantastic lunches) along with a 24 hour (more limited) area for hamburgers, chicken, fish, etc.

  I arrived at the resort at 12:00pm and was able to check in within 10 minutes, but was refused a room until 2:30 -3:00pm. They have a very strict policy of no rooms prior to 3:00pm. I offered the staff member who checked me in $20.

  Location and Amentities are absolutely AMAZING, service is average, but very very very few people speak english. I recommend the ocean view rooms, the garden rooms have many problems with misquitoes.

  We found the room clean, the bathroom was a bit small and the lighting could be better. Our 2 favorite restaurants for dinner the Santa Fe Grill and Rigoletto's. We enjoyed the beach and stayed there from about 11am until 3 or 4pm and then went to the pool.

  Ok folks, it doesn't matter how loud you turn up the volume on the tv or your radio. We did have a problem with the faucet in the tub leaking but it was fixed after we told the guy who was trying to sell us their Vacation Plan. We tried to avoid them (Vacation Plan staff) as much as we could but the guy who kept approaching us said he needed to get the points, and we are saps and gave in.
