Oaks Hyde Park Plaza Sydney - 悉尼

Very convenient location and the Hotel is very well situated in the city.

Central location and the proximity to the city was also very good.

The location was perfect for us being close to Oxford St and room was very comfortable.

About a 5 minute walk from the metro stop and closer for buses.

I booked this online and also paid for a pick-up from the airport, which cost AUS$50 when arranged through the hotel.

I was assured it was a great room, a 1 bed apartment and was definitely ok.

As an apartment style room it had a good size bedroom with small kitchen area, separate bathroom & spacious outside balcony/patio area.

My best advice is stay well clear of this place unless you like cockroaches in your room, mold on the fridge and growing up the bathroom walls and other peoples pubic hairs in the bed.

Guy at Reception told me that, that was the standard hotel bed for one bedroom apartments.

The room while not huge, was well appointed with new furniture, beds, a good kitchenette for self catering and the bathroom was spaceous (although anyone over 6 ft may have to stoop a bit in the shower)!

In fact, almost everything you could want was within a half a block or two: internet, grocery store, bottle store, cafe, good breakfast restaurant (LilliBlack), post office, restaurants.

Also room size was very good and restaurant below had nice Thai food.

Location great and there is an excellent Thai restaurant integral to the hotel.

There are loads of great bars and restaurants down Oxford St and into Surry Hills and Darlinghurst.

Be aware there is no room service or restaurant on site, however many eating establishments in the area.

The initial receptionist was very pleasant and checked us in without any problems as everything was in order with the room number already printed on the reservation slip at the front desk.

Efficient front desk staff - wiling to go the extra mile to help, great size apartment.

I checked in and was happy with the service from the Front Desk.

Was a bit concerned after reading recent reviews, however I found the apartment to be clean and the reception staff very friendly.

There was a gym, pool, and spa on the roof--the latter being great to sooth sore muscles after long days of walking.

It does have a fair enough pool and jacuzzi on roof top.

There was also sauna and spa which people were using.

The room was actually a decent size and very clean.

On leaving we booked out of reception where I made it clear to the man on duty what we thought of the room.

Very conveniently located and even the run down room seemed clean and comfortable, so while it isn't luxury, for the price it's quite all right.

We were not offered a new room or a clean from house-keeping.
