Value for money is definitely better than hotels in Munich itself.
I liked Freising town - 3 mins from hotel and no need to pay overpriced chain hotel breakfast - just go to any one of the cafes in the centre or get a great sausage from one of the market stalls.
Next door restaurant which is part of hotel but keeping a very separate identity is good and again good value.
I would definitely recommend hotel if you are travelling onwards and north - as good chance of train stopping at Freising, as well as last night stay before flight if you want less rushing around than in central hotel or you want a bit better value.
Stayed here for a night before taking off from the nearby Munich airport -- a short bus ride away.
Hotel is located within a short walk from the train station, which also is where the busses depart for the airport.
