As usual, our choice of hotel was restricted to where we could get a family room for 2 adults and 2 children, so as is often the case, we chose the Novotel, which was very good value as we booked an early booking offer on the internet.
Overall, a good hotel (excellent value with the early booking offer), Freiburg is pleasant town to visit and the hotel’s location opposite the railway station makes it a convenient for connections to other places.
Perfect location in the city and i also liked the proximity of a great doner kebab place.

It is possible to get a through ticket from Freiburg to Basel airport including the bus connection (note that there are two stations in Basel on the line from Freiburg and the airport bus leaves from Basel SBB).
We had more time when we returned and took the train the Basel, spent some time there, then took the bus to the airport.
The linens were clean and soft, the bed was comfortable, and all the bathroom components worked well.
In addition the bed was comfortable and the spa was also very good.
The room was extremely clean, tastefully appointed, and had a nice view out of the large windows.
